Arlen Specter looks great.
I'm happy to see that he is recovering so well from his chemo. He is on the opposing side, but I wish him continued good health. He seems like a pretty decent kind of guy.

8. Because he is high profile in these hearings, his appearance
might give hope to others who are presently in the same situation.

3. me too. Today I was wondering if maybe he had one of those
life changing moments in this condition he just went through, glad to see him encourage the asking of some 'series' questions of scalito.

12. Yes.. and I wish him well (although I'll never forget Anita Hill fiasco)
I have a VERY long memory.... Nonetheless, he is thus far showing some integrity in his role as Chairman of Judicial. If he follows through, I just might forgive some of his horrible behavior (particularly with the Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill hearings).

Regardless, I wish him a rapid return to good health.

5. I'm glad he is improving, because ol' "Single Bullet" Arlen is a reminder
of what can be done with a little power in the right place at the right time.

7. He's become very interested in the research on stem cells.
Perhaps he needs to clarify with Scalito just where the judge stands on that issue.

16. His constituents need to suggest the question to him
It's not only in his own best interests that he have that question answered. It's a huge question and one worth posing.

10. Yes, I've noticed too
He looks good and I wish him well. He does seem like a decent public servant; one of the few "good" conservatives. He'll probably start the NSA Spygate after Alito?

11. Spector is an overall good guy
He's a much better guy than Lieberman.

He can't be too bad, the AFL-CIO endorsed him over the Democrat in 04. THey also encouraged their union members to vote for him in the Republican primary in 04. The alternative in the primary would have been terrible. The Democrat was so-so as I recall.

I was going to mention it in one of the many threads for Alito. Compared to the way he looked while receiving the chemo treatment, he's looking back like his old self. Good for him.
