Republican callers to C-SPAN this AM were not in a good mood
It was difficult to distinguish them from the Democratic callers. One person said he had voted for Bush twice and wish he could take both votes back. Another said they were for big business and have done nothing to help the "little guy"...Another said it's time for a revolution. Others were very concerned about the reckless spending of the Republican Party. There's something going on under the surface - I hear a revolt coming.

9. Unfortunately, you may be correct. Take the Repub test and see...
TEST: Are you a Republican?

Which of these photos do you find more obscene?

A.

B.

When completed, pass your computer screen to the person behind you to be graded.

18. I bought Citgo regular, yesterday,
for my sister's car at $3.04..my car went to the scrape metal heap. I'm a walker now.

Some sane republicans must have gotten through..not the ones who listen to limpbaugh or insanity.

19. My fear is that it's easy for Bushies to manipulate the prices
and if their oil interests think it's beneficial to, for instance, drop the prices dramatically after some cheap republican stunt close to the elections., the same republicans who are only now rebelling will just as quickly fall back into line.

26. You are right on the money
these people have the memory (and foresight) of a goldfish. Right now is the time to start calling them on that little stunt--before it happens.

2. I've been seeing this build for close on to a year now
It's been slow; the odd grumble, the curious whine, the occasional, half-hearted, desperate attempt to blame Clinton, which fell flat even to the speaker's ear...and it has steadily turned into a dull roar of discontent.

My neighbor, a sort of conservative type, the other day went off on a rant that surprised me. He wasn't just angry, he wasn't just hopping mad, he was batshit-bullshit.

It was music to my ears.

3. We have to have enough Democratic votes so the election can't be stolen.
Edited on Thu Apr-27-06 11:24 AM by CottonBear
Overwhelming numbers is our only hope. The Bush gang and the GOP can rig the vote easily when the vote is so close. I certainly hope that some of these unhappy Republicans will vote for Democrats or third party candidates.

7. Overwhelming #s AND very visable about dissent
To really assure they can't fix the numbers in the computers, we need massive demonstration that America is not behind the junta policies and the political hacks who promote them.

There was a reason the media networks decided not to do exit polls in Nov of 2000.

11. Agreed. They need a perception that it's close, they don't need to be
actually close. They will manufacture that perception and the corporate media will amplify it.
But if we get out and publicly oppose, and talk to our neighbors, then people will find it harder to believe that they were the ONLY ones in their community who voted against them.

PS at least we finally know who "they" and "them" are! :)

12. Some Democrats are promoting independent citizen run exit polls.
Edited on Thu Apr-27-06 11:52 AM by CottonBear
The idea is to recruit pollsters from both parties to conduct a citizens' exit poll. It could work. I'm working with a get out the vote group in my community. We are focusing on registering unregistered Democrats and possible Democratic voters. We are advocating absentee ballots and we will even provide stamped and addressed envelopes and absentee ballots for the very poor and the illiterate. We are working to make sure all disadvantaged people can overcome the incredible unfair, illegal and immoral Georgia Voter ID law.

23. After the Democrats regain control
The question still remains, will the Democrats uncover, call-out, and/or prosecute all treasonous bastards in the U.S. Government, or will it all be swept under the rug like what happened during the Ray-Gun & Poppy Administrations?

There is a reason why all of the criminal players have turned up in powerful positions in the U.S. Government. Because Democrats didn't uncover, investigate, charge the criminals, and prosecute their past criminal activity, which would have slammed the door shut on any future government crime opportunities for them. Oh no, it was much more important to overlook flaws and not embarrass anyone for past crimes, while the other side was inventing shit to prosecute Democrats with. Then comes the rise of the BFEE again, with all of the criminals tagging along for opportunities to exploit.

5. Sounds like what people are saying around here.
'Here' being one of the most GOP dominated counties in America.

I think there are less than 6 registered DEMS in this county. Yeah, there is a lot of anger about to bubble up. And it has damned little to do with the price of gas.

6. These were probably the TRUE Republicans. The nutjobs were probably still
...asleep. :applause:

I can't believe that real Republicans would drink the * koolaid for all too long. True Republicans really do love this country, misguided though they may be most times in their lockstep march with this regime for far too long.

25. The Republicans have always been for big business
Edited on Thu Apr-27-06 01:13 PM by sph812
These people wake up to that fact as if it is so new. The Republicans have been on the side of big business for over 100 years! It goes way back to the industrial revolution of the late 1800's. The only aberration was Teddy Roosevelt. How did they not see it for all these years?
