Something I wish I could say to my boss...
You come from a source of pure privilege. Regardless of whether I came from a source of pure privilege, I know that I would not have taken advantage of it. I believe that success is making on one's own. So I never considered the option of taking advantage of my source of pure privilege. I knew that I would learn a lot in the process of taking the hard path, and I did. I learned that those who come from a source of pure privilege use it not only as a luxury... but as a weapon against the rest of the people. Whether or not I succeed financially I will know the truth about those who ride on the coattails of their family. They are weak and frail and exist only because those who are stronger have the will and character to carry them to their goals.

1. It depends on the situation
Certainly people who take advantage of their source of privlege do have an unfair advantage compared to those who don't but that doesn't mean that they are weak, frail, of bad character, or anything else bad. For example, a person who has started his or her own company might hire their newly college graduated son or daughter for a particuliar position. If they hadn't hired their child, they would have hired someone with more experience instead. In some cases, the child can get away with doing very little and may even get promoted. In other cases, the child takes his or her position seriously and in a couple of years becomes as good or better than the most qualified candidate that could have been hired.
Personally, I didn't take a position that I could have been given on account of who I knew because I thought that it would have been more pressure on me. If someone gets you a job, in a way you hold a certain accountability and loyalty to that person that you wouldn't otherwise. It wouldn't have been a really high paying job but it was right out of college 6 years ago, making as much as I will finally be making now.
It would be really great if all jobs were hired for based on merit but the truth is that is not usually the case. Seventy to ninety percent of jobs are obtained on the basis of networking. Even in competitive interviewing situations where all the candidates applied to the ad in the newspaper, the interviewer will often hire the people that he or she likes, not the most qualified. Is it any wonder that the average person would want to take advantage of their connections if it helped them get a job?
Whether that person is immoral or weak though has to do with what they do with the job once they have it.

can keep all the money their family made before they were born, without having to work a day in their lives for it?

and you can add selfish and greedy...

3. Oh, I'll play!!!!

After giving all I have to a position I found meaningful, I get a notice that my "work-at-home" position, two hours away from the office, has been extinguished in spite of busting my ass BUT, if I want it, I have the new FT in-office position (no added relocation or cost of living economic incentives. which would essentially equate to a one-third DECREASE in living wage).

If I had complete "freedom", I'd gather all office materials, travel to the office, request assistance to unload the materials and inform everyone that my position had been extinguished. So, I'm just returning office materials. I'd, naturally say "good-bye" to the numerous employees and immediate supervisors with whom I've appreciated having worked, together. I would submit no letter of resignation. I'd just sweetly inform the really nice HR individual that, I've returned all office equipment and materials since my position has been extinguished.

Then, I'd bust my ass to destroy that bitch's professional position (non-violently, of course)!!! I didn't use to be a "vengeful" type person, always just picking up my life and moving along after bullies and assholes kicked me in the butt. However, God (or no God, for that matter,...LIFE) never promised me any justice but rather delivered free will for humanity to create justice. With every breath, I'd make her toast, and proceed with my life.

Yup! If I were truly free, that's what I would do. Heck, if I were truly free, I might even make my purpose hunting down and destroying hateful bullies (non-violently, of course). But, I'm not "free" to do such things because life is as it is.
