Has anyone here tried the Game On! diet?
Today I'm starting my third round (one month each round) of the Game On! Diet. It was created by some of the writers of the show Gray's Anatomy. It's a sort of dieting game you play with teams or single opponents. The points aren't actually based on weight loss, but on all the little things you do to get to a healthy weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. It's very much about getting into the habit of living healthfully.

I'm not a real competitive person, so the will to win the game doesn't drive me so much, but I don't want to disappoint my team-mates who ARE into winning, and that has turned into ten pounds of weight loss so far. That's ten pounds that I couldn't take off any other way in the last five years or so. I hope to lose about seven more on this round. Everyone who played the game with me has lost at least ten pounds, some have lost twenty!

I just wanted to mention it here because I've had such good results. Well, I've had results, period. And that's saying something. http://www.thegameondiet.com/

I'd love to hear from anyone who has tried it or is thinking of trying it.

Congrats on the weight loss. I just started the Dukan diet so maybe after I complete it I'll try this.

It sounds interesting. There are actually some similarities. On the GameOn diet, you eat some protein in every meal. So there's a lot of protein. Not as much as the Dukan, though, it seemed from what I read. Question: Do you eat only protein on the "pure protein" days? How does that work? Another thing I see is that the Dukan diet has some "celebration" meals at a certain phase. I think that's a great idea. The GameOn diet has a "day off" and a "meal off" every week when you are *required* to eat more! IMO, this is what makes it possible to stick to the diet. I don't feel deprived because I know I can make sausage and French toast on Saturday morning and a heap of pasta for dinner, or eat some birthday cake and ice cream at a party if one comes up, or whatever. Oh, and you're allowed to have 100 calories of anything daily, so I tend to spend that on chocolate. I can't believe I lost weight while eating chocolate almost every day!

Good luck with your diet. I hope to hear how it goes.

3. PP days
so far I'm on the attack phase, so it's pretty much just lean meat/poulty/fish, nofat dairy and eggs. I'll switch to the next phase on Sat....which means I can add veg. everyother day for about 50 days. I'll let you know how it goes. It's a long term plan but after reading the book it's something I think I can stick with for the long haul. :)
