1. I tried it back in the early 1980's
I had a small needle in my ear just behind and in back of the ear lobe. Everytime I felt hungry I was to 'massage' the needle into my ear and the hunger was supposed to go away. The needle was covered by a tiny band-aid like material. It didn't work at all.

my family physician (In Ontario Canada) who practiced holistic and traditional medicine. He was very non traditional in many ways though and tended to use holistic interventions as opposed to chemicals. He seldom ever prescribed pharmaceuticals and usually treated my family and me with natural concoctions. He also did accupuncture treatments with needles that had wires attached to them and the machine the wires came from sent electrical impulses to the needles. He also had a floatation tank, did guided imagery, light therapy and a treatment that I don't know the name of where the patient wears goggles and different lights move quickly and unsequenced, there was music as well, this was used to help with depression..
I had a LOT of success when he treated me for sinus problems and migraine. I know I'm not explaining myself very well. I'm not exactly sure what qualifies as an Eastern Holistic practioner, perhaps he was.

What I do know is that I wish I could find a Dr just like him here in MI.
