2001 - To My Son
You've lost your ability; your smile is so rare.

You capture my heart when I do see it there.

The world is a rough place, with anger and hate.

I see your unrest and worry; it is your fate.

Your laugh was contagious, do you rememeber?

Until that awful day in Septemeber.

I can see your fear of the things that were done.

No hope for a future, or things that may come.

The news that you hear, is so bad everyday.

We are all so helpless to make it O.K.

You have a desire to make a repair,

To cure the world's illness of pain and despair.

The burden is massive that you've decided to take.

No escape from the stress and you're starting to break.

Don't try to ingore it by numbing your head.

Make this your passion, embrace it instead.

Get angry, make noise, let the world hear your pain,

We'll join you in making it better again.
