Tonight's Debate
Okay, make that last night since it is early am on the East Coast. I thought the debate was well done by both candidates. Hillary faltered once or twice as did Obama. She backed him into a corner on the Farakhan issue and he did the right thing by "rejecting." As a Hillary supporter, I like Obama but there is this niggling doubt in the back of my mind that tells me something is not quite right and in my old age, I have learned to listen carefully to those niggles. I fear, however, that with the Obama frenzy, we will probably see him as the Democratic nominee which means come November 5th, we will all be saying "President McCain." Obama has not the foreign policy experience nor the expertise in military affairs to win a debate against McCain. I don't like McCain's philosophies nor do I like his foreign policies but anyone who is old enough to have lived through Vietnam knows full well that he is indeed an American hero and you can not go up against a hero unless you have something with which to fight. Obama doesn't have it. And that is just one niggle. Obama likes to brag about the Republicans who he says have voted for him in all these primaries yet he has never stopped to ask himself why that is. I can tell him. I subscribe to about 50 various right winged blogs, forums and email lists (know your enemy)just so I can see what they are up to and I think that I have seen about 3000 emails encouraging Republicans to vote for Obama in as many primaries as possible so Hillary would be kept out. This has also been encouraged by right wing radio hosts. These are the same people who will vote for McCain in the general election. Hillary is our last hope to beat McCain and if not nominated we will not see another female candidate for president in most of our lifetimes.
