My Dad would have been 82 today
He died on Nov. 8, 2004. I was his first born and he always said "Hi baby" to me on the phone. I miss his voice so much .

Our birthdays are six days apart - when we lived back home we would always go to a Pirates game to celebrate our birthdays and our mutual love of baseball.

Happy Birthday Daddy! :toast: Ilove you and miss you.

 I think that would be a miracle!

We watched the World Series together from his hospital room and of course all the Steelers games up until he passed away. I was lucky to be able to go home for what turned out to be the final three weeks of his life (pancreatic cancer).

I haven't been able to put together a nice DU tribute for him. He was a retired Steelworker and Union man. He was in Chicago in 1968 for a Steelworkers convention that coincided with the infamous Chicago 7 incidents at the Dem. convention. Hubert Humphrey sat at his table. My Dad was a proud Democrat and many of my values are because of his example.

Edit: spelling

3. I think what you just wrote is a beautiful tribute!
And wow - Hubert Humphrey! My parents both loved him, and sincerely wished he had won the 68 election. That must have been some experience, being there during all of that.

But the best part of your tribute is your last line.

6. Sounds like a fine man, your dad.
What great memories you must have.

And, he probably remembers your birthday too. ;)

You have made me a Pirate fan now.
