Ever see a baseball milestone reached live & in person?...
I was a big Mets fan as a kid and was broken hearted with Tom Seaver was traded. That started me on the path to the Evil Empire.

By sheer chance, I attended the White Sox-Yankees game at the Stadium when Seaver won his 300 game. By the 7th inning the crowd was rooting for the White Sox to win - Seaver was always very popular in NYC. I don't recall if he pitched a complete game or not, but when it ended, the crowd went nuts. We had him coming out for curtain calls for a good 30 minutes. It was great.

(The game was memorable in another way. It was probably one of the only times that a Jersey cow was grazing the Stadium infield. They held 'Phil Rizzuto' Day before that game, and gave him a cow in honor of his 'Holy Cow' broadcasting slogan.I believe the cow was given to a petting zoo afterwards.)

1. I was part of the largest crowd to ever attend a World Series game...
92,706 on 10/6/59 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to see the Dodgers take on the Chicago White Sox. I was far too young (and therefore bored) to enjoy the game. It was like trying to look at an Ant Farm from the other side of the room.

The Coliseum was/is an interesting venue, but it was a terrible place to see a baseball game. The short left field with the 40-foot screen was something of a joke. The Dodgers played there for four seasons before moving into their Chavez Ravine digs.

2. Don't know if you'd consider it a "milestone" but
I saw David Cone's perfect game at Yankee Stadium, the Reggie Bar Game on opening day in 1978 when they gave out free Reggie Bars to all the fans and when he hit a homerun everyone scaled them onto the field like frisbees.

Nuttiest game was Oldtimer's Day in 78 I think when Billy was fired and Bob Lemon made manager and they announced that Billy would be back as manager after Lemon.

Saddest - last game ever played at the Polo Grounds.

3. Oh, I was at the Reggie-Bar game as well lol..
I forgot about that. It was hilarious. And proved that orange would never be a good color for astro-turf. (I must confess: I ate mine.)

5. Wade Boggs' 3001st hit.
My dad and I were tracking it and thought he was going to hit 3000 that day. He ended up hitting it the night before, so we did see 3001.

6. I Saw Two
I was there at Three Rivers Stadium on September 30, 1972 when Roberto Clemente doubled off Jon Matlack for his 3000th hit.

I was also at Three Rivers on August 14, 1971 when Bob Gibson pitched a no hitter against the Pirates.

7. A couple of HR's in 1998
Sosa's 60th against the Brewers at Wrigley Field, then McGwire's 64th against the Brewers at County Stadium.

Not earth-shattering, but it was cool to see them both hit one during that season.
