Hey, Shar and Pats
Another 30 Rock night for Keith, I guess because it was easier for John Dean.

Glad he's on and talking about his book. I read it and really found it quite compelling.

50. I don't know who it was that was in both administrations
Cheney?? He doesn't seem right.

Anyway, nah, why would the All-Stars have anything to do with Keith doing the beginning of the show and the end of the show?

And for the record, he has stated on Dan Patrick's show that he doesn't give a flying f--- about the All-Star Game. Thinks that it's actually pretty pointless. So don't go assuming we'll be seeing him from Pittsburgh tomorrow night.

Boy, Allison isn't kidding when she says that "they left the important stuff to me"!

Where has Keith gone? This is like showing up for the one meeting you had, and then taking the rest of the day off. And, does "back with the #1 story mean live or taped? I'm so confused.

I was off reading something else when the show first began, so I don't know if he mentioned this or not. :(

But, Hi, Alison! It's nice to see you.

It's the home run derby in Pittsburgh tonight prior to tomorrow night's All Star Game.

69. This makes NO DAMN SENSE.
Keith goes on Dan Patrick's show and says he really doesn't see any point to the All-Star Game, yadda yadda, blah blah blah...but somehow he mysteriously disappears one-quarter of the way through his own show. And I'm supposed to believe it's because he's watching the friggin' HOME RUN DERBY????

Now granted, I did run across a description of him at a Home Run Derby several years ago in my many Internet wanderings. One in which he was depicted as sitting there barefoot watching the balls go flying into the stands with a look of boyish wonder on his face.

But come ON, Keith. You know now that it's all steroids and HGH. How boyishly excited can you continue to be?

GET THE HELL BACK TO WORK or else...

...some have suggested this is the new Countdown format "watered down" Keith and probably off for the All Star Game.

Is Keith broadcasting from Pittsburgh? Nice set, doesn't look at all like 30 Rock.

The one he was in with Al Gore.

He said "Good evening from New York" at the outset of the show. Not "Good evening from Pittsburgh."

After all, this is the "start date" of all the other new changes at MSNBC. Tucker's show being renamed and rescheduled; no more Rita; documentaries from 10 to midnight. If I didn't know better I'd think that the fella Allison's engaged to is trying to push Keith out of his job in favor of her.

110. Well, for the record, this is what I posted to the other thread
and I believe it is true:

1. While the end of tonight's show was prerecorded, the interview with John Dean was NOT. I taped it. The MSNBC "LIVE" bug was on during that segment and during the brief tease Keith did for the rest of the show. MSNBC is religious about using the "LIVE" bug only for live material.

2. That interview took place in New York. Keith opened the show by saying "Good evening from New York."

3. As much of a baseball fan as Keith is, he's gone on Dan Patrick's show saying he really doesn't see any point to the All-Star Game. So while he may have cut out early to watch the Home Run Derby on TV (or not), I see no reason to assume he's going to Pittsburgh.

Edited to add: This doesn't mean that all this is some kind of MSNBC plot to take Keith's show away. It just means that the theory that "he's in Pittsburgh/going to Pittsburgh for the All-Star Game" is false/likely false.

(Adding: I don't know. Maybe Keith just can't resist watching a bunch of big burly guys try to hit home runs. But even if he's doing it, he's not doing it from Pittsburgh. Unless he's cloned himself.)

126. It's not. Dan's normally in Bristol, KO's normally from NY.
Keith's either from home, or from an ABC radio studio somewhere at the tiptop of Madison Square Garden. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why he's in one place or the other.

Every once in a while Dan comes into NY and they do the show in the same studio. Usually from the ESPN Zone, but at times they have met at that studio at the top of the Garden.
