Law & Disorder

------------------------------------------------------
Tonight on Countdown
------------------------------------------------------

A judge, a court reporter and a sheriff's deputy were shot dead at the Fulton County Courthouse in downtown Atlanta on today. A massive manhunt is on for the suspect, who had been before the judge on rape charges. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7157845/

Countdown w/ Keith Olbermann broadcasts LIVE at 8 pm et, and the count is never complete without you. Join us.
Keith blogs. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240/

Police said late Thursday that DNA found on a cigarette butt in the Lefkow home is a match to Bart Ross, the man suspected in the killings. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7159689/

Spain commemorated the first anniversary of the Madrid train bombings on Friday with tears, church bells and silent tributes to the 191 people who died in al Qaeda's worst attack in Europe. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6836190/

Prosecutors seeking access to Michael Jackson's financial records told the judge in his child molestation trial Friday that the singer may be "on the precipice of bankruptcy." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7159513/

Judge Rodney Melville ruled Friday that comedian Jay Leno, who has been subpoenaed to testify in the Michael Jackson trial, can tell jokes about the pop singer on "The Tonight Show." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7157916/

The "Gates"... in itty bitty pieces.

And Friday's favorite, the NEWSQUIZ!

That's some of what we're working on for tonight's show.

Finally,
The would-be robber wanted to inspire fear, but his choice of a Disney character mask to conceal his features provoked only giggles from a convenience store clerk. Cranberry, Pennsylvania police said a clerk at Gordon's Mini Market burst into laughter when the person wearing a Pluto mask walked into the store about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. The clerk was laughing so hard he didn't comply with the robber's demand to turn over the cash register money - so the frustrated robber left the store. "Pluto could have been a strung-out heroin addict," Police Sgt. Dave Kovach said. "You never know."

Now that's what I call a crime stopper.

Have an exceptional weekend.

1. I noticed this line...
"The "Gates"... in itty bitty pieces."

I'm wondering if Keith helped in their destruction. LOL!

2. overzealous Gate destruction would explain

all the back pain we think he's had recently. Then again, he could have tripped while dressing himself, as MJ allegedly did yesterday. :eyes:

edit: wrong word

3. I forgot to submit a quiz question again.
Gotta start spotting and writing down likely candidates for the quiz at the beginning of the week, to send in Thursday night.

I'm always too lazy to re-watch all those tapes.

4. maybe that should be one of our permanent threads?
we could have a long-running thread for brainstorming on quiz questions. Submit questions as they occur to us throughout the week and send 'em off towards the end of the week. If you originally proposed the question, you're free to submit it whenever you like. If someone posted the question but doesn't want to submit it (I haven't submitted any for the past few weeks because they used one of mine and I figured they wouldn't use me again right away, so why bother), then we coordinate through the group who is going to submit the question for the KOEB. As long as the thread is clearly labeled something like, "let's think up some newsquiz questions", it's up to Keef as to whether or not he wants to peek.

5. We could really throw him a curve that way, couldn't we ... LOL! ...
... if we suspected he was peeking?

<OOOooooh, Keith peeking!!! :loveya:>

Submit our REAL questions to the show --

6. actually, I don't think he *would* peek
which is why we'd need to label the thread. 'Course, if he's ready to admit that he can't match wits with a bunch of girls, then I guess he'll just have to cheat...

7. I'm sure Keith peeks in here from time-to-time
And probably laughs his ass off at how ga-ga we are over him. :loveya:
I'm sure he eats it up with a large ladel, though.

:hi: Keef, if you're reading!!
