Great article about Natives doing extra work
check this out it's kinda cool and informative!

"William BraveBull is a member of the Standing Rock Lakota. William, who is graduating this semester, ventured out to the filming of a Western movie south of Santa Fe. After his first day, William got bit by the acting bug, and returned thereafter. He learned firsthand Hollywood’s view of the Indian.

April 18, 2005

It was about noon when I was dropped off at the base camp for the movie, “Into the West,” a miniseries that is being shot right outside of Santa Fe at Bonanza Creek Ranch. The movie is scheduled to air in June on cable TV. I had heard about the movie from friends who were working on the set either from the beginning or for a few days. I found information about the filming from an e-mail, called the number, and was asked to come out and be an extra.

It was a nice day. The sun was out, no clouds in the sky, not windy, warm but not hot. The landscape was barren with small hills and brown grass. I asked the first person I saw what I needed to do to work as an extra and was sent over to the casting person to fill out paperwork."...
