Anyone familiar with HINU out there?
I figure that any NDN message board would have visitors who know about Haskell. Am I right?

2. What would you like to know?
I live in Lawrence and know a couple of people who teach at Haskell.
I might be able to answer a question or two.

3. Another haskell rascal?...:)
turtlelowe, and I met up at Haskell in fall of 95. I believe, what she is asking, is if any more alumni, current students are on this discussion board. My wife and I still go up and visit, from time to time. We were up there last month, when those tornado's tore through Lawrence. There was some damage done on haskell campus also, some tree's uprooted, and near the catholic center, a tree was uprooted, and fell onto a aerostar mini van, or something like that...

I associated mostly with Dorm staff primarily, and i went to haskell from 95-97, and then from 2002-2003, when i graduated. I still have quite a few good friends up there...:) I'm from SE Alaska, and pleased to met you...:)

4. Just looking for those familiar with the school
Every time I go to a board that has anything to do with Native Americans, I usually run into at least one person I know from Haskell. The company I work for is setting up programs to help students at Haskell with resume writing, interviewing and business success programs. I now have an excuse to come up to Lawrence more than once a year. Coach Pickering came to help our Associate Resource Group offer a Native American "training" program to 150 of our field managers. We covered topics ranging from Haskell, to differences in mannerisms and behaviors, to stereotypes. I am hoping we can accomplish much more with Haskell this year.

5. a little, my grandfather went there
Edited on Sat Jun-17-06 12:20 PM by Wetzelbill
I think my Uncle coached basketball there for a short time. Rumor has it one of my cousins in on the staff there too. Not sure though.

My grandfather was there when he was very young, when he was like 12 or so he escaped with a few friends and hopped a train in the next town. They rode all the way to Montana, cold, hungry but steadfast in their quest to get the hell home, haha. Pretty amazing story, really. :)

You're Petersond's wife? Gosh you poor woman, I sympathize greatly! :)

8. Thanks for your sympathy . . .
Goodness knows I don't get any from him:) I do love him though, thank God I am strong. His bark is worse than his bite, but don't tell him I told you that:) He wouldn't want anyone to know that he is a big softie.

11. My mom went to Haskell
back in the days when it was basically a high school (late 40's- early 50's). Over the years I've had aunts, uncles, cousins and at least four brothers who have gone to Haskell. Right now one of my aunts works out there.

I understand from your husband that we know several people in common (that Tazmanian Devil fanatic from IHS for example). I think we may have met ourselves but that was about ten years ago.

Glad to see you are an occasional poster here. You both need to check out the Kansas forum from time to time. I've posted Haskell news items there from time to time but they usually drop into oblivion.
