3. I'm sure it will have that option.
Either the 6 speed MT, or the 6-speed Tiptronic tranny.

5. Actually, new rumors say it may come with the 7 speed DSG as well...
Audi is planning on using this double clutch 7-speed DSG gearbox from the Bugatti Veyron in their "RS9" sports car planned for the future (2007?). Rumor has it that it could come as an option in the RS4 as well.

This is good news, since the Bugatti Veyron has a whopping 1001 Horsepower, so the 7-speed DSG is used to handling a W16 quad-turbo engine. The Audi RS9 is rumored to have the option for a V10 bi-turbo engine (the Lamborghini Gallarado engine turbocharged) producing 610 horsepower, and the RS4 will have 420, which means both engines will be producing far less HP than the Bugatti transmission would take with the W16 engine. This means with both cars, you can likely beat the shit out of the transmission with little to no consequences.

VAG owns Lamborghini and Bugatti, as well as Audi, and they are combining car technologies to make each car better.

8. How does that transmission work ?
I'm curious. Is it a standard MT or is it similar to the one that BMW offered on the M3 ?

9. Here is a brief explaination...
http://www.motoring.co.za/index.php?fSectionId=770&fArticleId=2142264

It describes the 6-speed DSG Audi is putting in the more powerful TT roadsters. The Bugatti version is pretty much the same, only it's 7 speeds and has the ability to handle 1000 horsepower.

As far as I know, BMW isn't using a DSG in any of its cars, save the McLarens.

4. 3631 pounds is my calculation.
The Quattro AWD adds weight, but the engine, hood, fenders, and most of the chassis is made from aircraft grade aluminum.
