LVF linked to taxi depot attack
From the BBC:
A gun attack on a taxi depot in north Belfast is being linked to the Loyalist Volunteer Force.

Staff were in the depot on the Ballysillan Road when shots were fired at the front of the building at about 0450 GMT on Saturday.

No-one was injured. Police said a number of men were seen driving off.

A short time later, a car was found burning at Brae Hill Park in the Oldpark area.

1. I expect the British and Irish govenments to speak out on the
criminality of the loyalist paramilitaries and how it must be ended before any further peace talks can progress.

And I expect monkeys to start flying out of...oh, never mind.

2. Yes, until the unionist paramilitaries give up criminality
and terrorism, the DUP has no place in a devolved government. Paisley must speak out.

Let me know when the monkeys start flyin', Maeve.

3. If either of you expect the day to come when Paisely and the rest
of that bunch will be shown to be the hypocrites they are and will continue to be, you'll be waiting an awfully long time.

Monkeys and swine will fly and hell will freeze over before that ever happens.

5. Yes, that was sort of the point
The Republicans are held to a much higher standard than the Loyalists. I am sorry that Ahern is sounding like Blair in much of this as well (Mary McAleese got ripped for her line about hatred the other day, altho I think it was fairly accurate--http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=1538&ncid=721&e=6&u=/afp/20050128/wl_uk_afp/nirelandirelandracismjews )

6. Mary McAleese told the absolute truth in that interview.
Not bragging here, but I've met the woman and she's absolutely terrific.

Mrs. McAleese knows about the "hatred". She was born and raised in Belfast, I believe her family was from the Short Strand area and was one of the unfortunate ones to be burned out of their home in 1969 when the "Troubles" began.

I absolutely love the fact that in the article on Yahoo, the only quotes were from hypocrites i.e. Ian Paisley, Jr and Michael McGimpsey and the former head of the Anglican Church in the Republic.

Every soul, whether Catholic or Protestant, in Northern Ireland knows that Mrs. McAleese's remarks the other day were the truth. They just can't handle it...
