I'm back from my California trip. I managed to squeeze in two days of birding, although one day consisted of two afternoons of birding, not the best time of day. I didn't hit my goal of 30 life birds, but came close with 24. Here's my original target list with asterisks by the birds I did see. I had a total of 110 species, so pretty darn good overall...

*Pacific-slope Flycatcher
*Western Scrub-jay
*Oak Titmouse

*Californa Towhee
*Rufous-crowned Sparrow
Lawrence's Goldfinch

Fairly Common:
*Brandt's Cormorant
*Pelagic Cormorant
Long-billed Curlew
Black Turnstone

Mountain Quail

*Glaucous-winged Gull
Xantus's Murrelet
Cassin's Auklet
Rhinoceros Auklet
Spotted Dove
Rose-crowned Parrot

Northern Pygmy-Owl
Common Poorwill
Vaux's Swift
