My beloved mother has passed over the bridge.
I took her to the ER last Thursday night with severe pain just below her rib cage on the left side. After testing, she was admitted, and by 2:00 AM her the doctor was still unsure of a diagnosis. After a a few days, it was decided she had pneumonia, and the fluid in her lungs was infected.

When her docter saw her at 6:00 Tuesday morning, she was "status quo", not improving much, but not declining eiter. By 9:00, she had crashed, and was admitted to ICU. The doctor called me at work and said I needed to come as soon as I was able. I called my sister, and we met at the hospital.

By Wednesday, she was unresponsive. My pastor arrived at about 5:00, and we said a prayer. The pastor essentially gave Mom assurances that it was OK to go with whoever was waiting for her on the other side.

At 7:00 PM, with still no apparent change, my sister and I went back into the room to say good night. When we went in, her monitor showed a heart rate drop. We each took a hand, and told her we love her. Within 5 minutes, she was gone.

I really feel that we have had no regrets with Mom. We never left each other without an "I love you" on our lips. We always enjoyed being together as a family, and were together as much as possible. We talked with her about plans, politics, and life in general.

Mom would have been 86 years old today.

We will miss her a great deal, but we know she is with Dad, and together, they will continue to be with us.

1. Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that.
I know in my heart that she transitioned successfully - to a better way of being.

Healing energy to you and your family; may her energy protect you and be there for you when you need her.

3. Thank you, Maat...
I agree that she is now in a better place, and a better way of being. She is with all of those she has loved who have gone before, and together they will watch over those of us here, and send the most profound love possible.

5. Yes.
I feel my paternal grandmother's love and support often.

Take care of yourself; we all care!

4. I know your are, Rev. , and thank you for that.
I just know that Mom waited for us to be together so she could die in the warm embrace of love we always felt when we were together.

7. I'm so very sorry
No matter how old you are, it's tough to lose a parent.

I lost my dad four years this month and it still hurts.

I'm glad she had such a peaceful passing.
