BASIC CONTEST RULES:

Since we have new rules for this contest, please read all of these carefully before you send me a private message with your entry.

Only one entry per person, and it must, of course, be your own photograph.

Please DO NOT post your entry in this submission thread. If you do so accidentally, that photo or any substantially similar photo will be disqualified. Instead, send me a private message with the URL of the photo in it. If you use Photobucket, please send the link beside the one entitled “Direct Link.”

The title of your private message to me should be the title of your photograph. In your title please do not use quotation marks.
I will send you a reply after I receive your private message and assign your entry a number. I will then post your photo to this thread. Hopefully the number of the reply here will match to the number assigned to your photo, so that I can easily keep up with the number of entries.

HONOR CODE: An honor code is instituted in the May contest. You may not tell any voting DUer what photograph you entered into the contest. If you cannot abide by this, do not submit an entry.

I am the only person that will post to this thread. I will put the photos up into this thread as they come in, so that they will be anonymous. No comments, please. There is a separate thread for comments. Please DO NOT put guesses on who submitted what photo in the comment thread. Comment only on the photographs, not the photographers.

The contest will be limited to the first thirty photographs submitted. I will number them in the same order that I receive them, and post them to this thread when I have the time. Do not assume that because I have posted only a few photos that there will be plenty of time to submit a photo.

Keep your photograph entry no larger than 800 pixels in its longest dimension and under 200K in file size. If you need help posting a photograph or with image sizing just ask.

You may not make any changes to your initial entry—not the photo and not the title.

I will accept submissions until Wednesday May 18, in the evening, or until 30 photos have been submitted. There is a remote possibility that I will extend the time, but do not count on it.

Preliminaries will probably run from Friday, May 20 until Sunday the 22nd PM. It is possible, though, that I will have to start them Sunday May 22 and have them run until Tuesday May 24.

Finals will begin either Friday, May 27, or Sunday May 29.

CONTEST LICENSE:

An entrant to this contest, by submitting a photograph, is giving permission for that photograph to be copied to Demopedia and/or to a linked Gallery that will display the photographs entered for this contest for the purpose of publicizing future contests and/or commemorating current and past contests. The entrant retains all other rights to the photograph being submitted. Neither Demopedia and/or a linked Gallery may use any photograph submitted for any purpose other than to display the photograph being submitted by the entrant, and neither gains any real or implied ownership rights to the photograph.

An entrant can disclaim this Contest License and retain all rights to the photograph. If an entrant wishes to disclaim the Contest License they must include the following statement in the PM containing their photograph; "I disclaim the Contest License, and reserve all rights to my photograph" Any photograph submitted by an entrant with this disclaimer statement will not be copied and displayed in Demopedia and/or any linked Gallery.
