1. Ah, nice to have time to experiment, isn't it?
I can see how simply very personal opinion can enter into this. I feel pretty strongly that I like the first one best. It is so simple, it is just a shadow without other noise around it. The chapel photo, while very nice, looks like it should be entered into a chapel contest instead of a shadow contest. The shadow element doesn't seem strong enough in it. I can't say that I love the little statue and shadow because it looks a bit contrived, as in, uh oh, I need a shadow photo so I better set one up. I could be way off from other people's judgments on this. I actually really like the ring in the book, because of it being subtle, but very cool. The thing about that is that I have never found that subtle photos are appreciated in the contest. There is always a first time though. It got a bit sunny yesterday so I may put some of my attempts out there too.

Oh, and I hope you wanted opinions. :silly:

2. Thank you so much for your very
candid comments. I think that as photographers, we tend to place our personal most desired photos first, so I am in total agreement about my first photo being so simplistic and the most desirable in this group! I think that's why I truly enjoy it the most.

The Chapel? While I am very happy with that photo, but I would never consider it a contender for our contest. Although a nice photo, not creative enough in my book.

My Ashanti gold weight photos . . . oh I just like that little guy and will be taking more photos of him as light goes away in my home. I'm still intrigued by what I can do with him.

As always Celebration, I appreciate your comments and take them to heart.

9. I must say I pretty much agree with you.
I also like the first one best. It's a powerful shot. The simplicity is what makes it.

3. I like the first one a lot. And then I also like the chapel, I zoomed in but
not having the original could only do a small photo

I like the subtlety of the ring. Very nice photograph. But shadows is not what it makes me think of, it's got too much else going on.

5. Thanks Mira! I do have a
closer pic of the pillars but decided to post one that showed the whole structure.

I'm still looking and thinking shadow photos and I have something in mind. Hopefully the weather will cooperate! ;-)

6. It will.
There is time.
I was going to take a specific shadow shot at noon today, and even though the sun was shining, I missed it.

This is not the first time when I was doing the hosting, and could not post, that I shot anyway.

7. I like the first one too
The shadow is the focus of the photo, while in the others the shadows are secondary. very nice.
