Conflict photographer Rafiq Maqbool
I know next to nothing about this photographer, other than he got a lot of Page 1 this week with what we can all recognize as a "lucky" Christmas Day shot:

Spc. Charles Moore, left, of Angleton, Texas.,along with Spc Andrew Vanderhaeghen of Rochester, MN., of 2nd Platoon Bravo Company 2-327 return fire upon a sudden attack by Taliban on Combat Out Post Badel in easteran Afghanistan near Pakistan border on Saturday, Dec 25, 2010.

So I started to look at his work. Amazing stuff, worth a Google, but here's a few stand-outs of his, for me.

7. Wow, his work is fantastic!
Thank you for sharing. I have looked up more of his work and read his story. I'd love to see more of his work. His compositions are very interesting and his use of light is dramatic. He has had no formal training either. Rather, he learned by doing it.
