Let me join this smackdown!
I hope this works. I placed about 60 photos on a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, so you can view it as a slideshow with written commentary. These are the photos I did not lose (I've kissed those good-bye).

I wanted something where I can send all my non-DU friends as well as something I can share here. I also wanted something to record the event because for me, it will truly go down as one of the highlights of my life.

It may take a couple of minutes to download, so I hope you guys are patient. If you don't have PowerPoint, I included a link with a free download. If you do, then just click on this link and it will lead you there.

1. Wow that was
great. Careful that might make email rounds, and would be a great one to do that. Love the commentary along with the great pictures.

2. Do you have to have Microsoft Office or something
to watch these? I use Corel. Any clues on how I can open them up?

5. Very nice, Raging...
Funny, I have a picture of that same cop, the one in the shot with ImpeachBush.org, and he has the EXACT SAME expression and stance. Do you suppose he stood there like that all day?

What I find really interesting about all these photos is the variety, that even though we were all in the same march, we captured so many different people. If some group somewhere really had a lot of time on their hands, they could compile all these different collections and maybe get an estimate of just how many people were there -- it was definitely more than the "tens of thousands" that the media reported.

6. Exactly
There was no way one or two peoople could have captured everything, even if they had stood on a corner and watched the whole thing pass by without ever moving. There was just so much going on, a lot of it which wasn't even directly in the march.

That is why I put this together and I want to pass it around, in the hopes that people wake up and see that the media has been deliberately withholding facts from them.

It's one thing to have a bunch of people march in Anchorage, but another thing to march in DC, not only the nation's capital, but one of the largest media markets in the country.

There's no excuse to not have reported what really went on that day. Rita or no Rita.

7. Wonderful smackdown contribution, Raging!
These are great--makes me long to see the ones you lost! I'm especially jealous you not only saw Joan Baez but got that close to her. I got Jesse and Cindy and Al, but Joan would have made the day totally complete!

BTW, how did you find a host for your Power Point presentation? I'd also like to put my photos on a slide show page instead of attaching the photos to an email. How would I go about doing that?

8. I ended up using a page from the website I launched last month
I started a business where I'm going to market myself as a writer and photographer. I've been a professional writer for eight years, and took photos with my articles for that long, but I never got hired solely for my photos.

So now I'm hoping to capitalize on the photo skills I learned along the way, but I'm still learning, especially the digital aspect of photography.

So here is my site. And if you want, I will host your PPS on the same page. Just do what I did, pick a good photo as your front cover.

And if Blue_In_Ak wants to do the same, she is more than welcome.

10. Thanks, Raging!
This is a generous offer. Do I just make a PPT presentation and then upload through an ftp or something like?

11. The best thing would be to e-mail the PPT to me
But make sure you save it as a PPS, which means it will open up as a slide show.

13. Do you have PowerPoint on your computer?
If you do, I can walk you through setting up a slide show. It's very easy.

15. Is that an MS Office program?
I have Corel (WordPerfect is what I use for transcription -- much better than Word for what I do). Maybe there's an equivalent of PowerPoint in my Corel Suite -- I just never checked it out.

16. There probably is.
And you may be able to save a Corel presentation as a PowerPoint presentation, some of the programs have cross-saving features like that. The reason is because business people need to share info even through they may not have the same software.

If you have a kind of presentation software, I'm sure the process to build a presentation is the same.

1) Open new file.

2) Insert a picture. (Usually there's a menu called Insert, or it may be under the Edit menu.) If you click on the photo, it will probably select the image and you can drag the corners to resize the shot.

3) Insert a new slide. (Probably under the same Insert or Edit menu, though maybe an option under File, New...)

4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 until you've made as many slides as you have pictures.

5) When you're done, save the file. Then try to Save As a PowerPoint slideshow. You could also try to save it as a Corel slideshow, but I don't know how that would interface with Raging's web program. It might work the same as PowerPoint, but I really have no idea.

14. I had to run a recovery disk on my computer
Because of the virus I had that killed my photos. So I had to reinstall my programs but when I tried to reinstall Office, which is what supports Power Point, the CD was cracked .

So what I'm assuming is that without Office, you can't create PP documents. Do you have Office?

9. Thanks, and to the others who've posted DC pictures.
The first challenge is getting good pictures in dynamic events like this (I fail here already). The next is editing to find the most 'truthful' images, images that convey meaning (and don't distract because of technical defects), and people here have done this very well. The third is going one more step and creating a "presentation" where words (or music, etc.) help am[lify the meanings. Thumbs up for taking this additional step. It not only serves to viewer well, it is the mark of a "pro" that they can/will do this extra work.
