1. Holy shit, Alfredo!
That is spectacular.

And yes, I'm dizzy. Love down-the-staicase shots... unless it is up-the-staircase. ;)

3. Just a tidbit of information
No More Nukes was taken inside an abandoned nuclear silo in AZ.

6. Thanks.
It was hard to get a photo because the only light was my flash and a flashlight. It was eerie being in the silo....it was almost like you could feel a vibe of fear. Weird place.

15. I like the low contrast. It really gives it that old horror movie feel.
I half way expect to see Lon Chaney creeping down the steps.

7. These are amazing, so far
I sure hope I don't have to do any tie breaking!

What I am really enjoying is how different each one is.

8. I am truly impressed
So far, museum exhibit material. I am sitting this out, unless I decide to go to Graceland and snap a picture of the mirrored stairwell going into the Jungle Room. BTW, that isn't likely.

9. Beautiful photos, and I'll vote my favorites :) - To Robb:
You're the stuff as a Daddy. I love how you portray your little one who is not so little any more.
Glad to see her again, and your loving use of the camera with her as a subject.

16. Around and Around was taken inside the St. Sophia Belltower in Kiev...
Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kiev is an outstanding architectural monument of Kievan Rus'. Today, it is one of the city's best known landmarks and the first Ukrainian patrimony to be inscribed on the World Heritage List.

In Ukrainian the cathedral is known as Sobor Sviatoyi Sofiyi (Собор Святої Софії) or Sofiys’kyi sobor (Софійський собор). In Russian it is known as Sobor Svyatoi Sofii (Собор Святой Софии) or Sofiyskiy sobor (Софийский собор).

The complex of the Cathedral is the main component the National Sanctuary "Sophia of Kiev" the state institution responsible for the preservation of the Cathedral complex along with several other historic landmarks of the city.

These belltowers do have a tendency to make one dizzy, if you are susceptible to that!

17. Lots of fascinating takes on the subject. Celebration's Mossy Steps/Ditto
is so very intriguing.
Where is that, and how did you get that shot?
I can't imagine it is in the area where you live.

18. you are right about that
I took that when we were in Whidbey Island (Puget Sound) over the summer. I probably snapped it with a possible Stairways contest in the back of my mind. I wasn't going to enter it unless there were spaces on the last day. It looks a lot better with cropping, which I didn't even try until right before I submitted it. That made a huge difference, and it came out better than I expected.

19. A frame on Down to the Beach?
I noticed because I actually love it, LOL. This photo looks like an old timey postcard. The beige frame definitely enhances the look. I am thinking we might need to revisit the no frame rule. No, I take that back. Although, I have to say, I love the frame on this one.

22. Wonderful job, everyone!
Since I decided to sit this one out I avoided the submission and comment threads, to be "unbiased" when the contest began. Now I've voted, and I'm very impressed! There are some early front runners, but I predict a tightly fought contest. This one is going to be fun!
