How much would y'all hate me...

2. Would that be
2, 3 or 4 photos put together?

That might be interesting.

Photobucket has tons of collages that could be used from 2-20 images....and you can chose no frames lol. It's what I used for the Coming, Coming, Coming, It's here collages...but I used frames.http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=280x73097

One just inserts pics already edited to own preferences. I'm lame when it comes to anything too techy, but if I can do it..... Just not sure how the overall size is controlled to meet the 800 mega pixels longest side?

Of course they also have the modern art option as indicated in Celebration post #12. I made some for my kids rooms

20. But can we use nature or man made items to make panels? The in and out door
at a supermarket could become "two" panels.

But this would certainly be a challenge. And I agree . . . tutorial needed. ;-)

12. How about this?
Fun with Photobucket. I've been tempted to get a poster printed along these lines.

13. That's cool
It reminds me of the psychedelic posters from the 60s. I remember the one quad with the Beatles.

19. Landscape or architecture might act as "panels" in a composition.

15. Intriguing
I'd say with clear parameters up front about final size this could be a lot of fun for everybody, and a fascinating departure for us as well as the GD folks.

I would not know how to do it right off the bat, except for that I DO know I could take my large toad pictures, crop them, and line them up as a triptych.
I think.
Heck, problem solved!

I think you have a good point though when you say you may need to arbiter, or assist in other ways, so you can't wander off while this is going on.... OK!

17. Probably too much trouble...
Not necessarily for the people submitting, but for you. There are bound to be tons of questions and unforeseen issues and you'd have to make sure the rules are very clear and cover as much as possible.
I've never run a contest so I can't really say for sure how much extra trouble it would be but I'm sure it'll make it an extra level or two harder than a normal contest.
