1. Hi photo friends...
I manage to get on line more now, am thrilled to see beautiful entries coming in for Spring.

I hoped so much CC would submit that bird photo, and it made me really happy to see it come true.
Tough competition with Celebration's shot.

I forgot to bring along what I was going to enter, but I'm working on new possibilities. Though all I have here is summer and rainy season, I'll come up with something.

3. It's still spring there
Edited on Sat May-01-10 07:05 PM by Mz Pip
even though it may feel like summer. ;-)

Hope you are having a wonderful time.

Love the pic of the yellowjackets. I forget that spring also means a return to bugs.

5. What a wonderful image!! The hands holding the goose are incredible.
That photo could have been taken in Serbia or Norcross Ga. It's universal.

6. I like the duck
and the birds went in because the azaleas look florescent and not quite right. Spring started happening then skipped into summer. Poor plants don't know what to do. Some aren't there yet and others seem to of bloomed and dropped.

11. I always struggle making a choice.
Of course I have spring photos. But which one?

But then I remembered these Easter eggs. Easter is Spring!

You Photography Group maven may recognize this one from a few weeks back. But it's not been in a contest or anywhere on GD, so why not?

BTW, for those who want to know, these are not real eggs. (Notice the ends are much more pointy than normal). My understanding is that this is a commissioned art work.

12. Wow
Those eggs are wonderful. Very festive!

I, too, am stewing over which shot to enter. I've narrowed it down to three, all very different.

I thought, since I'm in Massatwoshits, how could I submit anything other than this?

14. Nashvegas, Oh, that is so sad. I like that you shot the image
while the traffic light was yellow.

for most of the week, but yeah, it works :(

there are some amazing shots (I didn't take) of downtown w/the skyline. With this pic, in the mist about 1/4 mile down is the Harpeth River where it normally crosses 15 feet *under* the Highway 100 bridge.

16. It was odd to see 2nd Ave without wall to wall tourist and partiers.
Is that antique store still down there? I loved that place. I also liked Windows on the Cumberland. It was a good listening room.

I heard the symphony lost much of their instruments, same goes for some bands.

The loss of homes, lives, and businesses will haunt Nashboro for decades.

17. I Rarely Go Down There Anymore
2nd ave, that is. Not sure about the antique mall, there may be some there, but lotta big bars now. I work not far from the Farmers' Market, live near the Harpeth / 100.

The Symphony did okay I was told, they lost two Steinways and a $2.5 million pipe organ in the basement. Last night they gave a free performance at the public green.

Bellevue got slammed, and people on the bends of the Cumberland. I've never seen anything like it.

18. 2nd used to be a good place to hang, but it went Disney on us.
My wife worked in Nashville for about ten years. She made some good friends, got to know a lot of interesting characters like Roberto Bianco, and Don Everly. She was friends with his most recent wife (one of the Garza twins).

The antique store was open air, a jumble of wonderful old crap. It could be 35 degrees and the doors were wide open. It was a transitional form between antique store and scrap yard. If it got flooded, you wouldn't be able to tell much difference. Maybe some "new" items would float in.
