Vancouver 2010 - Day 1 - HappyCynic version Part IV: All That Jazz
Here's another installment from my Day 1 Olympics photos. Roaming the streets was the Carnival Band from East Vancouver. (East Vancouver is an area of Vancouver, not another city/municipality like West Vancouver or North Vancouver. There's no South Vancouver.) Unfortunately, I didn't get much in way of decent photos - too much movement for the available lighting. The band's web site is here - http://www.thecarnivalband.com/carnivalband. Incidentally, the "tiger skin" (fake of course) the trumpet player in the first photo is wearing goes all the way down his back - it's worn like a cape.

1. Great job for the available lighting
That first one is especially nice. The trumpet player is sufficiently still against the background movement to make a wonderful photo.

Is that a trumpet in the last photo? I've never seen one with a bell that large.
