what is the purpose for the poll? A contest...what is the theme? I ask because I thought the theme here was our own favorite pic of 2009.

2. I don't have one "favorite" (these are them)

and being a newbie I'm asking the long time members for suggestions.

3. Well,

my personal favorite is the steam engine, I would like to see at least half of the ground cropped away, but that's just me.
If I had taken that, I think it could be my favorite.
My next one is the last one, for color, balance, and that great bug.
I'll vote after I look again, later.

4. I agree with Sheepshank about each having its own appeal

but "I got my pony" was especially appealing to me. :)

5. I vote for the bug and passion flower

I like the contrasting red and green of the flower/leaves and how both those colours are present on the insect. If it were mine, I'd crop a some of the green of the right side and bottom because I find it a little distracting. Of course, it is your picture and you are free to take my advice with a grain of salt.
