Silver Spring
Wednesday thought I'd try to take some pictures of the fountain in downtown Silver Spring (for this month's contest). The pictures of the fountain really sucked, but a few pics of the new downtown area came out pretty nice.

Both are handheld, without flash.

(Silver Spring is a suburb of Washington DC)

1. Handheld?
What is it with everyone around here and the steady hands. Very nice. Captured the feel of a 'hanging out evening' in the burbs'. Night lighting is well exposed.

2. Using wide angle helps minimize shake
My Olympus zooms in to 33mm and it has a 1.8 lens. It does a good job in low light. Being able to take pictures at night without the annoyance of a flash (which draws the attention of everyone around and breaks the mood) is nice.

Thanks for the comments.

3. Wow!
I haven't been to Silver Spring in a few years. It looks nice! Great pics too.
