Water Falling Over Things 2009: Part V (An Old Standby)
So far this spring, the weather up here has been horribly good -- I say "horribly" because each weekend has brought warm, clear weather. No overcast days for classic waterfall and forest photography, no clouds for good sunsets. And the time when clear weather would be welcome -- the time of carpets of mountain wildflowers in the Cascades, is still a month away at the earliest. :-(

So, what is there to do when you just have to shoot something, to keep the weekend from being a total waste? I've shot at Snoqualmie Falls many times over the years, but it's just a half-hour drive away, and I thought it might be worth a trip, if for no other reason to get some practice shooting WFOT in bright sunlight. Owing to huuuuuuuge amounts of spray, the only safe viewpoint was the furthest point west of the observation deck, so the comps were somewhat limited, but at least I had a view of the entire area.

It was nice getting the subtle rainbow at the base...

I stuck around through sunset, as the light faded away to early evening, and left just as it was growing dark.
