Poll question: Help me pick my "...'Tis The Season" entry
I know this is cutting it close, but my first opportunity this year to take "holiday" photos came this afternoon. (The first two here are from previous years.)

Moreover, we've got a huge windstorm coming in tonight, with the likelihood of power outages, so I may only be able to access DU from libraries and the like for the next few days. I'll try to sign on sometime and submit one of these.

Garden D'Lights

Enchanted Night

2006: A BLUE Christmas

Celebration on a Winter's Night

Under the Tree

Comments are welcomed. Thanks for your help! :hi:

2. Thanks for the offer...!
As long as we don't get another experience like these, I'll be satisfied. FWIW, this storm is supposed to be worse than either of those two, although whether it will have a worse effect in our particular part of the foothills is yet to be seen.

3. Sweety that is part of living where
Edited on Fri Dec-15-06 03:09 AM by CC
you are. Course everywhere has it "part of living where you are." We get floods, rain and hurricanes. On rare occasion 2 feet plus snow storms with idiots that don't know to stay put.
I was more worried about personally for you. And the offer is still open. BTW if you happen to have a foreign car (non-american made) I can point you to a great resource that is honest and damn if I won't pull family strings if needed. Look at the bright side weather wise...and understand why living SOUTH of Florida is a major theme here.

Edited to add- would if help to know that I have an Uncle that is 91 yrs old that moved to Loveland that is complaining about the LACK of snow since he moved there? He lived in Steamboat Springs and just doesn't feel it is right to not be shoveling 2 plus feet of snow by December. He also still calls it Stormy Mountain not Warner Mountain.

4. I picked #3 also; 4 and 5 look like they came out of a magazine,
they are so perfect. #3 looked a bit fun and funkier. Great pics, and this is one I won't be entering, at least in my current mindframe and lack of seasonal pics.
Nice shots all!

6. Tough one
I love Garden d'Lights and voted for it. But I also love the pristine sparkliness of Celebration on a Winter's Night.

7. Garden D'Lights
ALL of your photos are evocative and engaging. I voted Garden D'Lights because right away I wanted to be there, to walk there.

and, damn! So many WA Du'ers! My best friend just remarried and moved to Fox Island, so I will definitely be coming up your way in 2007. Maybe I can get a small WA DU photogs meetup hapening while there!

8. Celebration on a Winter's Night
I love the composition and the romantic, warm feeling it depicts. And calm. This time of the year I long for calm...

11. I tend not to vote on such questions, but
since I am in a minority here it won't hurt the outcome. But I really liked Enchanted Night th first time I saw it -- just as an intriguing image. In this context it also conveys a bit of the over-the-top kitsch involved. As well as the positive aspect of the joy in creating and offering a visually pleasing experience to others. So I liked it.
