Shhhh..... just for the photo group
Hopefully no one will make a stink about this. Since I'm not using this list for commercial purposes I don't see any reason not to provide it here for your benefit.

First.... to those new D200 owners complaining about how big and bulky it is. This is the largest camera ever made. Weighed 1400 pounds, took 10 people to move, and used 8' x 4 1/2' "film".



Now the list. Keep in mind that most of these "call for entries" require an entry fee. I haven't checked out all these so I might have screwed up on a couple and the list itself may not be 100% correct.

May 21, 2006 DIGITAL ART COMPETITION Entrants submit three JPEG files
of original work. All styles of 2D artwork and photography where
digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the
images are acceptable. The selected winner recieves 10 prints up to
44x60 inches on canvas or museum quality paper (approximately a
$1500-$2000 value) to be shown in a solo exhibition in our main
gallery from December 8-31, 2005. The show will be widely promoted and
will include a reception for the artist. There are several second
place prizes. Winners will be announced December 1, 2005. Registration
fee is $30. Online registration only. All artwork will be offered for

May 29, 2006 International Call for Photographers - The Center for
Fine Art Photography - is accepting submissions for two juried
exhibitions: On the Edge - images that are avant garde, edgy, mixed
media, bizarre, experimental, etc. These may be images that don't
readily fit any of the usual categories. And, People, Places and
Things - the art found everyday in the people, places and things in
our lives. All exhibited works receive international exposure through
the Center's online gallery. Selected works are published in Artists'
ShowCase and included in the Center's traveling exhibition to Denver
International Airport, as well as, being eligible for monetary
awards. All exhibitions are intensely marketed to promote sales and

May 31, 2006 Call for Entries: Science and Engineering Visualization
Challenge The National Science Foundation and the journal Science,
published by the AAAS, invite you to participate in the fourth annual
Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge. The competition
recognizes scientists, engineers, visualization specialists, and
artists for producing or commissioning innovative work in visual
communication. The ability to convey the essence and excitement of
research in digitized images, color diagrams, multimedia and animation
has given researchers the perspective needed to set new research
directions and equipped other citizens to see and understand complex
science concepts. Award categories: Photographs, Illustrations,
Interactive Media, Non-Interactive Media and Informational
Graphics. Winners in each category will be published in the September
22, 2006 issue of Science Magazine and Science Online and displayed on
the NSF website. The competition is currently open to the public; no

May 31, 2006 The Northbrook Public Library announces a call for
entries for our 4th annual juried art show "Every Picture Tells a
Story", October 6 to Nov. 1, 2006. National or international artists
18 years and older, working in all 2D and 3D art media, are invited to
submit slides or digital entries. This exhibition is limited to
original, fine arts only. Artwork should reflect the theme of "Every
Picture Tells a Story" and have either a literary connection, or
convey some sort of meaning to the viewer through a relationship
between images and concept. Prizes include a $2000 (U.S.) purchase
prize as well as numerous other cash prizes. Entry fee is $25 (U.S.)
for 3 submissions. Deadline for submission is July 1,
2006. International entries must be paid in U.S. currency or by check

May 31, 2006 Call for Photographers. Gallery 8 is accepting
submissions for our August, 2006 juried show. The theme is Heat,
broadly interpreted as: a temperature, a feeling, a state of mind, a
color, a landscape, threatening or friendly, moist or dry. Located in
the historic Willow district just 3 blocks from the Phoenix Art Museum

June 1, 2006 Dangenart Gallery in Nashville, TN announces a call to
artists for the "Dangenart International 2006 Juried Exhibition". The
exhibition takes place Jul 18 - Aug 4, 2006. The competition is open
to all artists over 18 years of age, national and international,
working in all media. All forms of painting, drawing, sculpture,
photography, graphics, digital and installation art are eligible,

June 1, 2006 ART CONTESTS RUNNING MONTHLY. Artists are invited to

June 20, 2006 The Camera Club of New York announces its 2006 National
Photography Competition. The competition is open to all US residents
18 years or older except members of the Camera Club of New York or
their families, and employees. Freestanding pieces will not be
accepted. We are most pleased that Antonin Kratochvil renowned
photographer and documentarian, will be our Juror. Each entry will
