close up question.
I borrowed my daughter's KODAK CX7330 to document
some corrosion on an instrument at work.

Is there something I could do to improve the focus?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Given the same shutter speed ...
Low light = big aperture = shallow depth of field
Bright light = small aperture = long depth of field

Be sure to use the "Close-up" setting on the dial on top of the camera (used to turn the camera on). The icon looks like a tulip, and it's the last stop on the dial.

When taking the close-up, push the shutter button halfway and hold while the camera autofocuses, then all the way to click. To see what's in the autofocus zone, use the LCD viewscreen as a viewfinder. To use the screen as a viewfinder, turn the camera on (to the tulip), press the 'OK' button, frame the subject in the LCD screen, presse the shutter button halfway, when the framing marks change to red press the button the rest of the way down. (Turn off the LCD screen by pressing 'OK' again. It uses up the battery power.)
