What is it?
I took this in Mississippi recently, about 5 miles inland. Can you tell what it's part of?

Hint: This thing is still intact.

3. I'm guessing the handrail of a fence or a piece of
grating that goes over a window.

6. Nope.
But you're probably in the right material ballpark.

4. Neat pic. My first guess would of been iron
railing or something on that line but the lower pattern is wrong for that. Maybe a chair or table, very weathered.

5. Ooh, you're getting closer!
And I never said it wasn't iron.

7. My third guess
Edited on Sun Feb-05-06 10:28 PM by CC
is public trash can. I wasn't sure if it was iron or copper since it is so weathered.

12. Thank you all for playing! Here's the answer:

I took the original photo for the macro contest. What I can't figure out is a) is the green color paint or oxidation? and b) is the texture/pattern intensional or accidental? I know it looks like mold, but it was more like rust in real life.

13. Well hell, never thought
about a park bench.

a) is the green color paint or oxidation?

Was it powdery? Might be oxidation if it was.

b) is the texture/pattern intensional or accidental?

From the close up pictures it looks like the texture was put there. Has a design feel to it.

14. No, it wan't powdery at all.
usedtobesick thought it was mold, but it didn't seem moldy/that kind of organic matrial. I also thought the texture seemed intentional, but it was not really an inviting look to sit on in person. :-(
