MTP Press Release on Sunday's JK appearance
------------------------------------------------------
NBC Meet The Press
------------------------------------------------------

"MEET THE PRESS" EXCLUSIVE: SENATOR JOHN KERRY TO APPEAR LIVE THIS SUNDAY, JANUARY 30, 2005

In his first television interview since the presidential election, Sen. John F. Kerry (D-MA) will appear live on "Meet the Press with Tim Russert" this Sunday, January 30, 2005.

The exclusive interview will cover a wide range of topics including the day's historic elections in Iraq, the senator's own trip to the region, his view on Bush's second term agenda, the Democratic Party, Social Security and his plans for his own political future.

Sen. Kerry's last "Meet the Press" appearance on April 18, 2004, came thirty-three years after his very first appearance on the program as a spokesman for Vietnam Veterans Against the War. Earlier in the campaign cycle, Sen. Kerry announced his intentions to run for the Presidential nomination on "Meet the Press" on December 1, 2002.

Plus, we will have the very latest on Sunday's elections in Iraq with NBC's Brian Williams live from Baghdad.

"Meet the Press" is regularly seen from 9-10 a.m. ET, except in Washington, D.C. and New York City where the broadcast is seen from 10:30-11:30 a.m. ET. Please check local listings or the Meet the Press website (www.mtp.msnbc.com) for airtimes in your area.

The interview will re-air in its entirety on MSNBC at 10:00 p.m. ET (7:00 p.m. PT) and 1:00 a.m. ET (10:00 p.m. PT). A transcript will also be available at www.mtp.msnbc.com after the broadcast.

Tim Russert is the moderator and managing editor of "Meet the Press." Betsy Fischer is the executive producer and Michelle Jaconi and Erin Fogarty are the producers.

1. Russert was on MSNBC this morning promoting it and since Sludge
put it on his website yesterday as "Flash" news, people keep posting it like it is breaking news. This news broke last Sunday when Timmy announced it at the end of his show. Duhh!

It is good to see that he can still cause a bit of a stir by giving his first TV interview since the election.

The people who keep dissing him don't seem to understand that the Democrats don't have any real platforms to get news coverage. We don't control anything so the fact that JK can get coverage for the Democrats is to be encouraged.

5. I don't remember him saying. Frist was in Davos yesterday and Kerry
was going to be there along with Frist so I don't know about that trip anymore.

Russert mentioned a few questions he had for JK and said he had about 50 more after that. It certainly hasn't been taped yet.

Since it is on Iraqi election day, I bet it is live or else it could be somewhat outdated by the time it airs.

12. Lately though Democrats have been making splashes
I'm very impressed. Democrats really seem to be speaking up and are trying to craft a good platform Americans will understand.

This election has been good for the party afterall. I think the leaders are realizing that when we are defined we win.

17. Probably helps keep the repukes off of the show this weekend
cuz you know they would all want to be on this Sunday's MTP praising chimpass on Iraq's so-called "election day"....instead there gets to be a nice dose of reality for people to watch.

3. John will be on for the whole hour
I have been surfing other websites this morning and a lot of the are raising hell because they are giving him the whole hour. And they are raising hell because they say they cut Clinton from CPSAN yesterday and put him on CSPAN 2 so the could show Johns speechs. I have been LMAO this morning over all the silly shit I have read. The only thing I don't find so damn funny is the article here at our own post about the fraud where John's own people stabbed him in the back and cheated now that piss me off!:grr: :grr: :grr: I hope those involved go down in flames! I cannot believe a any democrat would stoop to that level. Dirty as hell. :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

10. I think she is referring to the "fix" mentioned
in the article about election fraud on Ohio? That some they thought were Dem lawyers were actually working against him?

11. The Raw Story Article
Where Kerry "Awakened to realize that that the people in ohio wasn't his" And that a democrat as well as a repupblic knew about the stickers over Kerry/Edwards and Bush was filled in. Maybe I read it wrong. I will read it again. But sounded to me like people were planted or paid off.

20. He was great!
I am always impressed by the man when his campaign managers aren't telling him what to say. He can and should run with his heart. He always says the exact right thing when he does this.
