On Anderson Cooper now
SF Mayor Gavin Newsom defending JK. Saying what he likes about the Dem party is that, unlike repubs, they're not afraid to express differing opinions.

And he's cute.

1. I saw it and was very happy to see the support. Kucinich also
came to JK's defense on an earlier segment when a Repub spewing lies and misconceptions started attacking Kerry.

2. what did the Republican say about Kerry ?
nice to see Kucinich defend Kerry. Kucinich also brought up Kerry when he spoke out against the attacks on Murtha.

3. I saw it too
Kucinich was great. Said JK was a patriot. The Repub was an older, fatter Congressman from Georgia or some other Southern state who spouted a continuous stream of bile about JK during the 70s--his testimony in '71 which "hurt the troops"! Honestly how many times can they try to use this. He had nothing to say about any of JK's activities lately.

Have they got a playbook on JK somewhere--he seemed to be reciting. Kucinich was sitting next to him and tried to inject some protests but the other guy didn't stop until he had the whole spew out. But then Dennis smiled and shook his hand at the end--I think he wanted to show that he knew it was a performance by the other guy--elections coming up, you know. He made a point of shaking his hand while looking at him and smiling.

4. i actually saw this then
at least the ending of it. i saw the part where Kucinich turned to him and shook his hand. but that has always been Kucinich's style. he shook, Bush, Rumsfeld and some other assholes hands also. i guess he is a real diplomat. it's kind of like the british parliament where they refer to each other as the "honorable" gentleman/woman while getting into heated debates.
