JK Office On Romney and "wingnuts in his party"
My my,

“Republican presidential nominating politics should never trump the health of Massachusetts families. By dismissing the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, Governor Romney is joining the wingnuts in his party who think climate change is a 'hoax.' I wish the Governor would listen to sound science that says we have to address this problem, families who want their kids to breathe clean air, and those of us who want to grow the high-skilled jobs Massachusetts needs to stay competitive in technological innovation and environmental protection.”

1. He (or someone in his office) really said "wingnuts"?
:applause: Well done!

3. Press Release in my email
 Took me by surprise. Maybe somebody's a little cranky over the whole impeachment hullabaloo. If they're going to accuse you of being left wing fringe no matter what you say, may as well have a fun ride???

4. I think using the word "wingnuts" draws attention to the
statement. Romney seems to want to be seen as both moderate enough that even Massachusetts elected him and conservative enough to be acceptable to the base. There are probably a lot of people in the middle who are appalled at the disregard for science and global warming. Kerry (or his staff) are makeing sure more people notice the press release and tie Romney to an unpopular position.

6. Well that makes sense
We don't want any real "wingnuts" getting away with that "moderate" nonsense, no more of that.

2. Woo hoo!!!
That is so cool.
I was pissed when the Repub response to Sen Kerry's joke at a staff party kept referring to the "Democrat party".
They deserve 'wingnuts'. They deserve worse, but I'll settle.
I am a little surprised, though.

5. Yeah, now that's a great call.
Romney is not a popular Gov in Massachusetts. He went into office promising to protect the environment and do things to protect Massachusetts. There was a regional effort by Northeast states to reduce the greenhouse emissions. (And just maybe help take some of that mercury out of the waters around here.)

Romney threw over the health of people in his rented state so that he could appeal to wingnuts in other parts of the country. This despicable man is a huge fraud and he must be stopped. (Honestly, this is a grudge match for Mass Dems. Normally, you don't take it so, so personally, cuz it's bad for your mental health. But this friggin bastard has so many people in Mass just salivating at the chance for some revenge. He is a lying fake and I would go to NH just to stand for hours in the snow and wind and freezing temps just to remind any NH voter of how much of a bastard he is. I can't wait until he gets his electoral comeuppance. He cannot be trusted at all. And he was just awful and snide and nasty to John Kerry last year. I owe him for that as well.)

7. It'll never come to that, but if it does...
Pick me up at the Manchester airport. I'll meet you at baggage claim.

8. And I'll hit Iowa as well.
I really think he's running for Vice. I think he knows he would never make the top of the ticket, I just don't think he could do it. But he is ambitious and would do anything to move up the Rethug ladder. People like that, without a moral compass or a real group of principles that they stick to are very dangerous.

And it will be a cold day in hell before the next Pres of the US from MA is a lying Rethug bastard. Over my dead body.

Ask the party, then either trash Mitt Romney or praise the true Massachusetts hero. No wasted houses.

They've been giving 'attitude' back to the rethugs by the truckload lately. :applause:

11. Out of curiosity, were Kerry's comments like this say, 10 years ago
or before his run in 2003/2004. They are clearly very direct and strong.

12. IIRC, he gave quite a bit of 'tude to Weld in '96
That race really kept both of them on their toes. It was an excellent match up of two quick thinking, wicked smaht guys.

and not develop a 'tude. I mean really, think of the awful muck he knows about that all these horrible things the Rethugs have stirred up over the years.

15. Isn't that just the most amazing thing.
Edited on Fri Dec-16-05 10:40 PM by TayTay
I mean, there must be some strong conversations and strong opinions stated about these greedy bastards who are in power at the moment, but honestly, how do people not get ground down by the simple awfulness of it? It has to take a toll. I find it unbelievable that JK & THK can still be hopeful and forward looking people. Just unbelievable. Honestly, that's what gives me hope. That's why I'm still here. IF people who *know* these evil bastards and *know* they have no agenda beyond imposing their view of the world on everyone else and reaping a profit for their friends while they do it can still be out there fighting, then, damn it, so can I.

16. The Boston Herald used the "wingnut" quote.
I think it's in today's Herald.
