Air marshal role catches pols’ eye: Kerry, Markey urge funds, oversight
This man is everywhere.

http://news.bostonherald.com/politics/view.bg?articleid=116225

U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry yesterday called for congressional oversight of training for federal air marshals as U.S. Rep. Ed Markey (D-Malden) demanded increased funding for the program.
“Congress needs to get a handle on how air marshals are being trained. Oversight is a job Congress just can’t abandon. We need the facts,” Kerry, a member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, said in a statement.

1. He certainly is...how can anyone be so busy? He HAS to have a clone...
or several!

John Kerry clones. What an intriguing possibility...

3. He's amazing. Even on Imus this morning, he was talking about
things he read in the New York times. This is someone who keeps up on everything that happens. He's on top of every issue. And he didn't waste a moment in responding to this incident.

Well done, Senator Energizer Bunny.

4. sssshhhh! It's a proto-type program.
The genuises at MIT are still perfecting it. (They were on strike recently and very angry because I forgot to give them a toy break.)

In all seriousness, when I worked with those computer genuises in Cambridge many years ago, we would periodically take breaks and run over to Toys 'R Us to get new office gadgets. I remember when Jurassic Park opened and they had all these screaming dinosaur toys. We went over to the toy store, bought armloads of these things and brought them back to the office and had some fun. (Screaming dinosaurs everywhere. No, I can't talk to the people from Germany at the moment, we are having dinosaur races in the hall. You know, all work and no play make geeks very grumpy. It's amazing what a few dinosaurs or light sabres or laser guns will do for morale.)

5. Oh yes, I am familiar with the breed.
Nerdus Sapiens. They do love their toys. I've always loved.... oops...I mean they always love...

Still smiling about the prospect of a Kerry clone made at MIT. They would make subtle changes...John Kerry with a pocket protector...john kerry gains 50 lbs eating devil dogs and cheesits...Senator John Kerry to speak at Star Trek conventions wearing Vulcan ears (this might be kinda cute)...

On second though...maybe it is best to leave well enough alone.

6. Well, when World Con was in Boston in 2004, he sent a note
Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 09:58 AM by TayTay
(He is on the commerce, SCIENCE and transportation committee, don't ya know.) Everyone at World Con thought it was quite nice of him to send a note welcoming thousands of geeks to Boston. (As if we had a shortage around here, sigh!) He was rather busy in '04, so it was nice of him to send a welcoming message. (And somebody arranged for that cool NASA exhibit. I liked that one a lot. It was set up right next to the recreation of the medieval tavern. Hmmmmmm.)

So, how tall is he in Smoots anyway?

7. Oh that is just priceless!
Medieval Tavern! That has to top even NASA. I used to be a King Richards Fair-a-holic.

Can't say how tall he is in Smoots because I don't know what they are. Guess I need a few more nerd lessons first.
