I believe it was for the Kennedy Center Gala. They sure look good. They will always be my president and vice-president. To think, we could have seen that in January at the Inaugural Ball.

6. This also confirms why I hate GD
People there were bitching at Kerry for daring to show up at the Kennedy Center gala, because (GASP) BUSH was there! They imply that he "partied" with Bush, made the requisite Skull and Bones jokes, and there was much general lamenting, wailing, and gnashing of teeth because, by daring to attend the Kennedy Center fest, Kerry was once again reinforcing how unlike us commoners he is.

I'm not sure which of those baseless accusations makes me most nauseous; the Skull & Bones ones are always pukeworthy, but then again so is the idea that Kerry was "hobnobbing" with Bush because they happened to be at the same place at the same time. Uh, actually, it's nice of him to show up at an event honoring influnetial entertainers. And Bush was there because it would be a bit remiss if the "president" didn't show up. But obviously Kerry should've stuck it to the MAN and refused to go - in fact, he needs to refuse to set foot in any event at which Bush will also be appearing, because obviously that's how DUers think he needs to "fight for us:" by acting like an immature 15 year old ass.

:puke:

8. Somebody had to say it
and I'm glad it was you. I was getting really pissed off. I agree, it's REALLY immature. He's a Senator and of course he's going to have to go to social events. It's a freaking party, people you don't like are gonna show up. Yeah, it might not be easy but people have to be civil with one another. Sorry, that's politics. Hell that's all positions in society. It's not like there's a picture of Kerry and Bush high fiving one another and having a grand old time. People need to get a grip.

9. The mental image of Kerry and Bush high-fiving made me LOL n/t
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 01:37 AM by WildEyedLiberal
Because Bush would have to jump up and down like a little puppy to reach Kerry's hand.

11. They'll never be satisfied
When he wasn't being seen in public, they were complaining about that. Now he does go out in public, and they're complaining about _that_.

12. If Kerry hadn't gone to the event, they'd have said...
...he was dissing Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee.

As it was, it was an excellent chance to honor progressive sorts (Warren Beatty, Mr. Davis and Ms. Dee) and bask in the arts.

And I don't know about you, but we REALLY need the arts right now -- inspiration and all that.

They both definitely wear a tux much better than the Shrub, and I have no problems with them showing off that fact.

18. Love those photos and this forum!
I love John Kerry and screw the rest of DU! They are so quick to find fault and place blame, but guess what our guy won more folks than any president before him, even the beloved big dog and St. Raygun.

I am proud to be a Kerrygirl! :loveya:

He is such a wonderful man!

(I had fun giving deaniacs hell today for deans poor timing and horrible use of a forum yesterday. Instead of postponing his "vision for the party" speech, he chose to disrespect those at the hearing and conducting the hearing on the election fraud. That was rude and stupid.)

Anyway, I do love John Kerry and the John Kerry forum! :grouphug:
