Any Info on JK Campaigning for Ferrer in NY in Oct?
I read somewhere that people were getting recorded calls from JK inviting them to a grassroots campaign event for mayoral candidate Ferrer - I think on Oct 30. I (and every other person on his list from this area) got an e-mail from JK the day after Ferrer won the primary, but I didn't get anything about a possible visit by the senator. Does anyone have any info?

5. Thanks
Thanks. I traveled to PA to see him during the campaign, once with my daughter and once with my husband. That just leaves my son who hasn't seen him in person before, so we'd be eager to see him here "in town".

7. Fundraiser $50
You could call and see if there are other events planned that day, or if they need volunteers if you don't want to pay. Andrea Leung at (646) 839-4918

11. Seems that Kerry is in NY today as well.

Does anybody have info about his yesterday event.

http://www.ny1.com/ny1/content/index.jsp?stid=1&aid=54456

Last week it was former President Bill Clinton, and on Monday Ferrer will have another big name Democrat at his side. Ferrer will be holding a roundtable discussion and lunching today with Senator and former presidential candidate John Kerry.

According to the Note, he will be in NJ afterwards.
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/TheNote/story?id=156238

Earlier in the day, Ferrer will campaign and lunch with John Kerry. Sen. Kerry will then scoot across the Hudson River to support his colleague Jon Corzine's campaign for governor.

14. Here's my report
Ok - I finally have some time to write this down. Thanks to the info you folks gave me, my husband and I attended a fundraiser for Ferrer in a bar near Little Italy on Sunday night with JK. There were about 100 people there, but the place was small, so it was pretty full. Husband and I got a table close to the door. Lo and behold, I looked out the window and who's katty corner across the street standing next to a black SUV but two very tall and handsome men -- JK and Marvin -- (and one short guy, Freddy Ferrer). Everyone jumped up, the senator came in and started shaking hands and chatting with people. It was all very relaxed, no rushing, etc. I was beaming from ear to ear (picture to follow), when JK reached over and took my hand and said "so nice to see you again". (I guess he remembered me as one of the 100,000 people who went to see him in Philly last year-- ha). This is where things get hazy - we hugged and I think I got a kiss but I'm not sure. (OK, my husband just came in and said of course he kissed you, that's why you were smiling). I said to JK, "I've needed that since the concession speech" (don't ask me where that came from, since I had decided I was going to ask him about the Georgetown speech). He looked puzzled, bent down (I'm really short) and said "what did you say?". I repeated it and he said, "that's right, I said I would hug everyone" -- then he hugged me again and moved on. Marv lingered as JK worked his way to the back of the room and everyone was greeting Marv. I said "Marv, when are you going to run for office?" I told him that I would write about this on the DU Kerry forum and that I would post his picture as well as the Senator's. He gave a thumbs up and moved on. Charlie Rangel introduced JK with some very kind words about "America's Senator, who we all love". JK spoke graciously about Ferrer, Kids First and after school programs. They worked their way back through the room again. I got another picture with JK and Ferrer and they were gone.:loveya:
Now it will take me a few days to figure out how to post the pictures, so I'll be back.

15. Congrats!
This was a great post. It sound like this was a fun evening. I'm jealous that you got so close to Sen. Kerry and to Marvin. (I just love Marvin for some reason. He just seems like a great guy.)

Pics for you:
