Virginia Senate Seat thread
I'm just going to start this thread, and when people have new info, put it here.

I'm going to start with a call from a Virginia conservative blogger for Allen to concede:

http://masonconservative.typepad.com/the_mason_conservative/2006/11/it_is_time_to_c.html

It Is Time To Conceed

Senator George Allen has lost his reelection. There is just no way he can make up 8,000 votes, IMO. Even if there is grounds for a recount, Senator Allen should conceed this election for the sake of the commonwealth and the country. We need peace in our politics right now, so President Bush and congressional Democrats can get to wrok governing.

One election this reminds me of in Missouri 2000, when John Ashcroft could have asked for a recount, and might have won. But he did not. The election is over, we need to move on.

George Allen needs to conceed like the gentlemen I know he is.

(BAAAAA -- Allen is a gentleman??) But the point is that it's over to this guy. He goes on to discuss who should be minority leader in the Senate. And he quotes someone from Red State that they should not grumble about voter fraud, intimidation, etc. They may have something to grumble about in Philly (some ugly stuff there against a Republican poll worker -- I saw the video), but that didn't cost Santorum the election. Meanwhile, Webb was the one defrauded with voter intimidation in Virginia, and is still on top.

If anyone gets more up to date numbers, please post here.

1. Also, I was listening to local radio, and the local reporter
was talking about how Webb should go ahead and start assembling his staff!!

I'm telling you guys these Virginia stories so you can see the marked contrast between Virginia's perspective and the national's perspective, which is still saying "too close to call".

2. Raising Kaine is very good here:

Webb's up by 7,352 votes. They are currently "canvassing" which I think is just a way to double check errors (like the one Fedup saw last night). It's simply not going to be enough for Allen.

Then Lowell goes on a whole explanation of why Allen should concede, especially since he's down a lot more than Burns in Montana was. He thinks Allen should protect his chances of becoming Ambassador to Luxembourg (or wherever) by not letting Virginia fall into chaos and a costly legal battle (all of this talk, now that the shoe's on the other foot, confirms for me, once again, the rightness of Kerry conceding Ohio in 2004, since he was down 120,000 votes).

I'll let you guys know if more happens.

3. I'll second that request.
We really don't need to drag this out!
