Well, well, well.

Twila & Scout recruit Chris and Eliza and pull off
a "game-changing" maneuver that sends an HUGELY
OVERCONFIDENT "this immunity wasn't life and death
for me" player home.

YOWZA!!!

2. Eliza is growing on me.

Esp. after meeting her Mom.

Eliza seems to make the move she needs to make
to survive, and I respect her for that.

4. It's almost more fun that way.

In soaps they call people like Eliza the ones you
"love to hate."

More power to you.

5. I loved it!
Seeing Ami's face was priceless. I was wondering when the other girls were going to wake up and see that Ami and LeAnn were holding all the power. It was beginning to get predictable and boring, so it was good to see things shaken up a bit.

6. The waiting has been horrible.
I was starting to wonder if Scout and Twila were ever
going to have the cojones to pull the trigger on it.

My guess is they were waiting until the numbers were
more in their favor. Chris by himself isn't as much of
a threat as he would have been with Chad and Sarge in
tow.

7. I just saw the episode
I was in the hospital for the last 4 days and my husband recorded it. I almost cried when Chris was saying, "I'm going home tonight" to his girlfriend and I don't even like him that much!

I was glad to see LeeAnn get voted off after her "it isn't a life or death vote for me" (or whatever she said).

Hope all is okay.

Poor Chris. He was so sure he was done for.

I liked when Twila was talking to Chris and telling him
"You need to talk to somebody," and him being a ding-dong
trying to guess who.

9. Just bad math
Ami and Leanne made the biggest error you can make, hitting Twilia before they had the numbers. Leanne was flat out mean and told Twilia that Julie was ahead of her on the chopping block. HUGE MISTAKE. When it gets down to 7, you need four to win. At this point Ami and Leanne had to lie and tell Twilia that it was going ot be Chris, Eliza, Scout, then the final four was all bets are off, every woman for themselves. Amy shoul dthen have gone to Twilia in private and said if she had her way it was Ami, Leanne and Twilia in the final three, just as Leanne had done with Julie. this keep everyone voting in line.
HUGE mistake.

10. You might be right.
About it going by the numbers I mean.

But I think Twila and Scout were just waiting in the
weeds to make their move, and LeeAnn's stupidity gave
them the push they were waiting for. I think they knew it
was now or never, and probably would have made their move
anyway.

I can't wait for this week. There are going to be some
really good fireworks. (Hope, hope.)

11. I disagree
I'm ecstatic this happened, but it only happened because Ami and Leann are horrible players, as well.

They moved too soon, they told the truth when they should have lied, they made so many mistakes I can't even keep track. The wonder is that they lasted this long.

Oh, and I don't like the idea of loved ones being so instrumental in immunity challenges.

12. You're just comparing them to Brian again
and finding them lacking. (Tweak tweak).

I still think T&S were ready to make the move and shake
things up anyway, no matter what Ami and LeeAnn did.
The "honesty" just gave them a push. I think they can
add as well as you or I, and voting off Eliza would have
made it a 3-3 split. Not good as these things go.

But yes, ecstatic is a good word for how I felt on
Thursday night. About d*mn time T&S made their move.

:hi:

13. Not at all
I just find Ami (and, by extension, Leann) to be the weakest of the "masterminds" in 9 seasons of Survivor.

Rob and Amber were fairly blatant about their partnership, but even they never told everybody else that the other players just weren't going to be invited to the Final 2. Or 3. Or 4.

14. Who says they're the "masterminds"?

They might have been in their own minds, but it's
interesting that the supposed supporting players are
now all of a sudden calling the shots. Don't you think?

I mean, Chris was just so happy to be able to stay
in the game he would have done just about anything that
they wanted him to -- crawl through hot coals, sacrifice
his first born...

16. now they're calling the shots
but they weren't before.

Heck, if you want to believe the entire season Ami and Leann haven't been in charge, go ahead. But I'd like to see some evidence. :-)

17. Ah, but they didn't stay "in charge," did they?
That's all the evidence I need.

Yeah, the hare was ahead in the race most of the way,
too, but I think the tortoise eventually won. The whole
point is to win the race, not be ahead for most of the
way and then crap out at the end.

Heck, it's great for T&S that Ami did most of the
dirty work. She has to keep on winning immunities or
she's out of there now.

See, that's the thing with being so obviously in control
for so long. When other people get the opportunity,
they'll take you out.

18. we've seen this before
when a group was in charge and lost it. The first and most famous was Season 4 in Marquesas, when the Rotu 4 got too cocky in a challenge and made very obvious the coming boot order. Paschal finally woke up to the fact that he and Neleh were 5 and 6, and teamed up with the three others to overthrow the dominant alliance.

What takes skill is to be in control and remain in control. Very few have managed that.

This was nothing but Ami and Leann getting overconfident and making a crucial mistake. Had they voted off Chris, they'd still be in charge. Targetting Eliza pushed Eliza out, they'd already offended Scout and Twila repeatedly, and Chris was ready to do whatever was needed.

Just bad gameplay.

19. Interesting speculation, but you're forgetting
that YOU SAID that Twila and Scout were ready to
vote with the men at the merge but Rory insisted
on voting for Ami instead of Eliza. T&S weren't
ready to do that yet, and so Rory got his throat cut.

So don't count out the fact that those two were
ready and waiting to make their move. They didn't
have to "WAKE UP" to anything. They've been making
noises for weeks about switching sides.

There's something to be said for laying in the weeds
and biding your time until the perfect and opportune
moment to strike. They did it in such a way and at
such a time that Ami has ZERO power to retaliate.

Good gameplay on the part of T&S. Nothing Ami or
LeeAnn could do to stop it.

20. T&S
have been trying to overthrow Ami for some time now, they just keep screwing it up. They'll try a little mutiny, then back off, then try it again.

Again, horrible gameplay on the part of Ami and Leann. Just behaving a little differently would have kept the women's tribe together for a bit longer.

21. There's no way to know for sure what T&S
would have done had Ami and LeeAnn behaved differently.
There is simply no way to know.

But there certainly is ample evidence to support the case
that T&S were planning this maneuver all along, and chose
this moment as the perfect opportunity.

I don't think this little mutiny is a screw up at all.
It worked, didn't it? Now Ami and Julie are twisting in
the wind, and the final four looks pretty set, unless
T&S decide Chris is too big a physical threat and decide
to get rid of him beforehand.

It couldn't be more ideal for T&S to go to the final two
together. (How they became the pair in my head I'll never
know, but it sure seems like that's the choice the jury
will have to make.)

22. it was a screw up
on the part of Ami and Leann.

The key is what Chris does. He's got a shot at F2 if he plays it right.

Were I Chris, here's my plan: I stick with Scout and Twila to boot Ami; if she wins immunity, switch sides and boot Twila. Keep Eliza floating around by talking nice and reminding her how much everyone hates her (as far as she knows).

I, as Chris, have a connection with Twila, Scout, Julie, and Eliza. Jumping from one side to the other, I'd try to set up a Final Three of Scout, me, and either Julie or Eliza. And keep talking about how I have no way of winning because all the women on the jury would vote against me.

23. Yes, it was a screwup on the part of Ami and LeeAnn, but
it was ALSO good play by Twila, Scout, etc.

You underestimate Eliza's ability to shift in the
winds. She's saved herself at least twice by switching
her vote.

Ami has one the last two immunity challenges that
were puzzles. I doubt they will have a third puzzle
immunity this soon. (I think Twila won by chewing on
a rope on pole one time. ((God that sounds bad.))

Anyway, digression aside, either Julie or Ami go next,
and then it's a fight to see if Chris, Eliza and that
third team up to smash T&S.

Believe it or not, I'm starting to root for Eliza to
win this thing. As far as play goes, maneuvering, she's
been unmatched so far.
