I Just met Jeff Probst, Rupert and Boston Rob

I was walking down Broadway to get lunch and on 45th and Broadway they had a promotional tent set up. It was a big pyramid to promote the new season. There was Rupert, Boston Rob and Jeff Probst signing stuff and giving away t-sirts. I got my wife a hat autographed by Probst, who she loves. I got a t-shirt from Rob. It was very cool. Jeff was the nicest guy. He left my wife a message on her cell phone. GREAT GUY. I love it. I can't wait for Thursday.

1. Wow Dr Strangelove - what luck!!

* is supposed to address the nation at 9pm opn Thurs. Will this mess up our premiere show? Isn't it usually 2 hrs? Any idea how CBS will handle this?

2. Of course, not only does he fuck up the economy, he fucks my entertainment

I hate that man. I am sure CBS will delay it and repeat it on Saturday like they have in the past when something like this happens, but now I'll have to stay up late to watch it air on Thursday, which means I am worthless the next day at work.
The show is only one hour, followed by a 2 hour repeat of the CSI where one CSI is kidnapped and placed in a coffin under ground. I think that was the finale of CSI last year. I hope they cut that put and air Survivor Thursday after bush speaks.

3. I am insanely jealous! I haven't heard anything about Rupert and

his foundation in a long time. I thought I heard a Surivvor promo that said something about 2 previous players making an appearance and I was hoping one would be Rupert.

I'm hoping CBS won't air the stupid speech. My TV schedule shows CSI that night as the 2 hour season finale. Their opener in on 9/22, I think.

4. Didn't CBS not air a George speech once?

It seems to me (and my horrible memory) that within the last 6 months George gave a speech and CBS didn't air it. I am thinking that because I remember thinking Survivor or The Amazing Race (whatever show it was) would not be seen because of a speech but it turned out CBS didn't air George. Am I making things up in my head or do I actually remember this?

Dr. Strangelove -- you lucky dog! I am jealous and am going to sit here and pout. Plus, I will be gone (S. Korea to visit hubby) for the premiere of Survivor on Thursday. But my husband says it is supposed to be aired on AFN this weekend. It better! :grr:

6. I wish they would cut it

They cut George off during a Q&A with the press last spring to get to Survivor. He finished his speach and took a few questions, they ran him until the half hour or hour, and then cut him off mid-word and ran Survivor.

I head it would be aired on CBS affiliates as an option for Saturday evening late (which my local affiliate is doing) and on one of the cable stations (I thought OLN, but maybe it was AFN). Have fun in S. Korea. I am jealous of your trip and am going to sit here and pout too.

5. Survivor opens Thursday, 9/15 at 8:00 pm on CBS

on the east coast. I'm not sure of the othr time zones. The bush speachis set for 9:00 pm, so we should be okay to watch survivor. As for the two returnign survivors, their names have been leaked. I posted them in a spoiler thread earlier.

I am not sure that the male name listed there is correct, but the female has been confirmed with video evidence (she is in the foreground of a scene in the promos and in the background of another). The male returning survivor has been debated and I think my earlier post is correct, but some other boards suggest it was someone from the Australia season.

7. That rocks, Doc!

I wish they'd come hang in San Diego once in a while.

A couple of years ago, we had a few Survivors here for a charity poker tourney, and Hatch spent the evening dealing blackjack. The casino was literally 10 minutes from my home. I was a member of the casino "club", got newsletters, etc., and wasn't informed until the next day. AARRGGHH!

8. I rarely do, but this time it was cool

I was just walking out to lunch and bam, I walked into it. Probst was the coolest guy there, but Rob was pretty nice to the fans too. I thought he would be a jerk, based on his TV persona.

anyway, can't wait for the start of the new series tonight. talk to you about it in the next few days.
