How dangerous is Marine counter-intelligence in Iraq?
My son re-enlisted after three years in Japan as a technical data specialist. He will go to 0211 MOS school in Virginia Beach first but he told us the other night that instead of going to language school next, he'll be catching up with his unit in Iraq, probably in May.

I hate that anyone's son or daughter is in harm's way. Now it's going to be my son. I appreciate your counsel.

1. From what I'm reading, there's a lot of boredom at the moment.

Of course there's always moments of sheer panic in a warzone. In my time, the call of "Incoming!" was a sign things were going downhill quickly.

On the plus side, he most likely won't be on patrol or convoy duty. Just tell him to keep writing or talking to you as much as possible. And don't volunteer.

2. Define "dangerous"
In what context are you using it?

3. I understand that there is danger everywhere
but I'm wondering from those who know the counter-intelligence MOS, is he most likely to perform his job on a military base or out in the field?
