1. I whole heartedly agree
with you. I've been sitting back and watching  all the fireworks around Clinton and Obama and just thinking....they are going to burn out quickly - John's been laying some solid groundwork the last two years and I think he'll come out ahead by the time Iowa hits.

3. waiting for hope, hello. It does look as if he has been laying the
groundwork -- that's a very good way to put it -- and it will pay off for him, I believe.

A recent poll in Iowa showed him ahead of other Democrats, and I'm guessing he may be able to build on that support.

It's going to be an exciting year ahead.

8. Did you know that JRE and EE still planned the day
Whereby they could attend Little Jack's basketball scrimmage before they went to PA? How cool is that? Real families tend to their families first, then reach out to others.

12. The competition to get him before
the mainstream public eye and ear is again the biggest barrier. Gore in his campaigns never caught fire but edwards should not be having this kind of problem. It seems to devolve upon money and machinery and the media role more than ever. Patience and wisdom would indicate that his strengths breaking through the artificial barriers between himself, the field and the voters could dramatically take fire this time for several critical reasons.

The ONE negative card, and it is not putting something in that is not there, but awaking a deep concern,
is simply, and unpalatably, fear. Edwards has the charisma to erase it and the electoral credentials to counterbalance it as the strongest vote getting assurety to win. So he has to present himself to the people as a leader of confidence and hope and in the context of the burning desires(volcanic this time) of the base to pick a real national winner, a BIG winner who looks and acts like the Hope personified.

How to snap the idiotic press and the still disengaged electorate out of this sleepwalking Hillarymania and the Obama Alternative? Does it pay to invoke the fear and the calculations so early? I wouldn't think so. but it is grinding frustrating and still in the same gear as last time. Leaving people under the impression that Edwards is in the same choice position as last time is probably as nail-biting as Hillary trying to glide softly past her negatives.

The breakout moment being discussed is Gore jumping in. The one being ignored is when Edwards lays it out
that the people need him as the best in two ways: the really best leader people can trust and the electoral answer to all pragmatic dreams. Even WERE he more conservative in the Southern mold, the hope he lends to progressives and sweeping more of them in and the worst out makes the whole Edwards candidacy one of extraordinary depth for the SEA CHANGE that people say could be coming in 2008.

And despite the nitpicking traps being laid for him on the border of getting to that point, he is the single most trustworthy and populist candidate with the highest degree of electability. Some tough politicking needs to be done that has nothing to do with the mediocre tiffs that titillate the corporate media now. Nominations don't fall out of the trees unless some huge prestige precedes an Eisenhower or Washington. Edwards has all the absolute perfect arguments in his favor- like last time.
And that is the sole worry now, that he is stuck there like a great artist crowded out by mediocre "popular" ones with better hype and agents.

A "Convenient Truth" would be some breathrough directly to the voters that we want and need Edwards no matter the issues and credentials of the other candidates- including quite likely- Al Gore. the cruelty about Gore is also that he carries the unjust baggage of MSM emnity and slander. But Gore need not even contemplate jumping in if Edwards takes the standard.

14. Edwards
I think John Edwards is a great caring man, and would make a wonderful president. I wish him and his followers well on the campaign trail!

I would love to see an Obama/Edwards or Edwards/Obama ticket come next year. That would be the best!
