Very good personal news, on a very bad day-
I thought a lot about weather or not to post this today. I've known about this news for about an hour, and I'm going nuts.

First, everyone here is a friend of mine. While I can't call you up on the phone, I can share news with you guys in this forum. Please understand, that all of you stand with me on this, because I couldn't have done any of this, without you guys!

From an e-mail I received just this morning:

"In short, we need help from folks like you. I've seen how well you work, how committed you are, and how much energy you have. I don't know what your plans are over the next few weeks, but there is an opening here in Boone County for an Executive Director, and I think you would be a great fit. It's a fantastic liberal college town, about 80,000 people, the third most liberal area in the state. It would be an honor to work with you again."

Seriously, how crazy is this? This was from Brandon, who works for the party in Missouri, and yes, it looks like I'm being offered a job with the Democratic Party. You all must know this is a dream come true for me. Something I didn't even let myself hope for, and yet here it is.

Thank you all for reading this, and I hope, on this very tough day, this personal news of mine, can bring a smile to your face.

I take all of you to Missouri with me.

3. It's like a dream come true,
Just wish it would have happened on another day. Or I wish the e-mail came from the Edwards campaign. But thank you.

Whatever happens, wherever I end up, all of you are coming with me.

named for frontiersman Daniel Boone? It is one of 114 counties in Missouri. It's right there in the middle of Missouri.

22. Want to know the communities of Boone Co?
I knew that you did.
Ashland (city)
Centralia (city)
Columbia (city)
Hallsville (city)
Harrisburg (town)
And don't forget about the rest:
Hartsburg (town)
McBaine (village)
Rocheport (city)
Sturgeon (city)

This is the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me. Ya gotta love a place with a village named McBaine. How cool is that?

26. I could not make this up OC.
If I wrote this as fiction, no one would believe it. You know we got three colleges there in Boone County. This should be fun.

Columbia College
Stephens College
University of Missouri - Columbia

I understand UofM Columbia is the Tigers. Plus, we have 24% German 12% Irish 12% Italian 9% African American and about 1% of all the others.

Also, don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but Boone Co has 46 cemeteries.

31. John said it the best today in his letter-
"And, along the way, all of you who have been involved in this campaign and this movement for change and this cause, I am asking you to continue speaking out for those who have no voice, just as Elizabeth and I will continue to do. We need you.

Do not turn away from the great struggles before us. Do not give up on the causes that we have fought for. Do not walk away from what's possible, because it's time for all of us -- all of us together -- to make the two Americas one. We need you."

Our fight goes on TA. We're taking the message to Missouri, and beyond.

Sorry I am so late to the party. I've been walking around on my bottom lip for the past few days and just wandered over here. How terrific to finally read some good news.

Give 'em hell in Missouri. My husband was a legislative recruiter for the Democratic Party in Kansas when we first got married, and if I do say so, he did a terrific job of getting folks to run in a very red state.

You will be wonderful and such an asset to the party. Keep us posted, and best of luck!
