4. There's only two Ibanez'es in that picture.
The other two are Schecters. The blue one with the vine inlay is a 'C-1 Classic', the gold w/white pickguard is a "Tempest."

The light gold guitar is an Ibanez 'JS 2000' and the front one is an Ibanez 'RG 470' (souped up with Duncans and an original Floyd put in).

To post your picture you copy the "direct link" thing in the photobucket thingy and paste it into your DU post.

5. Oh hey, that IS a Schecter.
I gave it a cursory look, saw the vine-y type inlays and the two Ibanezes and just assumed it was a JEM or something.

Very nice.

All you have to do is copy and paste into a DU post, and it will show up.

Edited on Thu Jan-29-09 06:39 PM by Iggo

Yikes! Kinda huge and kinda fuzzy. Looked a lot sharper on my phone...lol.

Anyway, that's my Epi Silverburst, my Cort strat-thing (3 single coils, ya can't see 'em), my Harmony dreadnought and my Hohner classical.

I'll see if I can get some better shots when I get home. I'll get the Matchless 2x12 in there, too.

kinda fuzzy though! :-)

Now, is it just me or, is that guitar thinner than a Gib LP? It looks like it's wearing a corset.

What is that blue stomp box, btw?

It may be the lighting and the solid colors.

The blue pedal is an ancient DOD DigiTech PDS 1002 2-second digital delay.

14. Ancient Stomp Box! Good One!
I still use my Boss Chorus (CE-2) I think i bought it in the mid-80's. Still works perfectly! My friend has a Boss DS-1 distortion (which they still actually make) that he bought in 1986. It still works great too.

Some of these companies make really, really good stomp boxes. Just abuot bulletproof.

8. I don't have photos, but here's the list:
Edited on Sun Feb-01-09 09:40 PM by MilesColtrane
1) Old fretted MusicMan 4 string Stingray
2) Old fretless MusicMan 4 string Sabre
3) New fretted MusicMan 5 string Stingray
4) Ibanez Artstar 335 knockoff
5) 1932 German double bass by Hermann Beyer with a Realist pickup

Amps and misallaneous

1) Acoustic Image Contra (for the upright)
2) Fishman bass preamp
3) SWR combo amp w/15" speaker
4) SWR 15"/10"/horn cabinet driven by a Crown Power Base 2 amp
5) Rack with the requisite power conditioner, tuner, Rane parametric EQ that I use as a preamp for electric bass, and DBX 160A compressor
6) Roland V-bass (analog synth unit)

It took me over 30 years to amass just this, yet there's always more (and better) stuff out there. Economic limitations dictate just how high end and boutique-y my gear can be.

10. Like Miles, I Don't Have Pictures
My digital camera (piece of junk) has given up the ghost. So, while there are pictures on there, i can't post them to photobucket.

Electric Guitars:
Ibanez JS-1000
Schecter C1 Elite Blackjack
2000 Fender Standard Strat
1978 Fender Strat (with Warmouth Neck, Kahler Bridge, and Duncan SSL-1 pickups.)
1998 Fender Standard Telecaster
1972 Dan Armstrong (Lucite)
1962 Fender Jazzmaster (Repainted)

Acoustic Guitars:
2002 Martin DCME
2004 Martin D Series 12 String
1995 Takamine Natural Series D (Tuned to Am8)
1975 Giannini Lute Body Guitar (Tuned to D6)
1968 Harmony Abassador (12 String) (Detuned 3 half steps)

Other:
Fender 5 String Jazz Bass
Ovation Mandolin
Selmer Flute (A Cheapie)

Keyboards:
Ensoniq ESQ
Ensoniq SQ-2
Alesis QS 8.1 (88 key weighted action)
Ensoniq Mirage (Rackmount)
EmU Proteus Plus (Rackmount)

Amps:
Mesa Boogie F-50
Fender Stage 150
Fender Bassman 400
Fender Bassma 100
TOA 380Z (Keyboard Cabinet using QSC amp)

I've got that really cool KORG rackmount tuner with the strobe feature so it can be used for regulating guitars, and i've got some really nice TC Electronics reverb/delay units in racks. One of them is used strictly as my Boogie's reverb unit, since i don't like the reverb that is built into the amp.

Then i've got some digital recording hardware, but i'm not that diligent about using it. If i were, my instrumental guitar album would be done, instead of being "in process" for 2 and a half years!

Whew! That's quite enough now, huh?

15. Mine....
Early 1970's Yamaha Acoustic... Mostly retired.

Ovation 1778T Elite Acoustic-Electric...

Fender Tex-Mex Strat... (This was one helluva buy- great strat tone, for not much $$)

Dean Avalanche HS (This was bought for use as a prop, and the pickguard covered in crystal rhinestones. Surprisingly, it is a pretty decent guitar that really draws attention)

Epiphone '57 Les Paul Junior reissue (P100 removed and replaced with a P90. All the bang, MUCH less buck than the Gibbie equivalent)

1971 Martin D12-35... (A craigslist find. Currently in the shop for a bridge replacement, and installation of an LR Baggs transducer)

1966 Fender Bassman, with small 2x12 cabinet... (Tubes and capacitors replaced- other than that, all original. Loud as all hell.)

Fender Pro Junior... (Not a bad little amp- I've done some small mods to mine, and it has a great basic R&R tone)

Line 6 Pod X3... (Just purchased it- It seems to be a decent piece of equipment. No, it has no glowing glass but if you want a range of sounds it surely fits the bill)

That fret board is pretty dark, is it just well oiled rosewood and the light or could it be ebony? I have an ebony board in my Schecter Tempest (see above) I like that a lot.

Yeah, i didn't include that either, and we sold the big stuff. When my band was playing regularly (after a few years of the MS, i couldn't do it anymore), we were hauling around 9600 pounds of gear!

We sold almost all of it, and we donated the truck to a gospel choir that needed it to move their stage and their band's stage gear.

Otherwise i could have included the truck as part of my gear! LOL!

...the "Aristocrat" model, in my recording studio (formerly "the living room"):

I purchased them (the kick and toms only) in 1979 from Dewey Martin (who passed away last January 31), he used them with Buffalo Springfield. The snare is a limited edition signed DW Craviotto.

I refurbished the Camcos using all new hardware from DW, the company that purchased all of the toolings from Camco when they went out of business.

29. Electric guitars: 18 year old Mexican Stratocaster, very ugly,
sings like a bird. Chinese Jay Turser SG copy, just great for very fast chording. Tele from parts, plain maple body must weigh 7 pounds, very old (rusty screws) bridge tele pup, Gibson soapbar P-90 neck Pup, black PG, wide, flat rosewood board, back of the neck is unfinished. Got that in a pawnshop for $165. My favorite guitar, maybe of all time, replacing 2 '70's LP Customs and a '57 Gretsch Chet Tennessean in my affections.
Also have several acoustic and 2 basses.
And a basket full of harps - I really like Lee Oscars.

35. Lots of stuff collected for 45 years.
I started out on classical music, and most of my singing and performing has been classical. I have also directed choirs and took 2 years of singing lessons, learned to sing opera.

My first fiddle dropped out of the sky into my lap in 1965 and I started lessons when I was a pup. My piano teacher just happened to be a violinist too. Cool, huh??? Now my old teacher has become a public nuisance -- he has taken up the accordion!! :D

Keyboards:
1925 Gulbransen full sized upright piano.

1995 Kurzweil PC-88 that rocks.

Hammond B-3 organ, inherited from Grandma, who warned us not to watch that 'nigra music' when we were trying to tune in American Bandstand.

PC 486 to run Cakewalk on with the Kurz.

Fiddles and bows:

220 year old violin, alleged to be a German copy of an Amati-- in brown fake alligator case I bought from Francis Thorp.
1984 Forrest Craig violin, with orange stain.
$350 student violin I'm keeping for a kid in the Army
???? violin that crawled into my house, and I have NO IDEA where it came from or how old it is.
I guess it was lonesome and knew it would find company at my house. It has a bow and a case.

Octagonal stick bow that came with old fiddle.
Round stick bow made by Philip Gold in MA.
??Unknown bow that crawled into the house with the unknown fiddle.

Guitar:
Fender Jazz Bass in Indigo, tuned C-G-D-A like a cello, so I can play it. I think in fifths, not fourths. I can read bass clef since I'm a piano player.

Mandolin - cheapo.

BF has a Fender Twin Reverb, white Strat, Sears Silvertone guitar he used in his crappy garage band, Epiphone 6 string, Epiphone 12 string, Fake Paul McCartney bass, ukelele, banjo, bongos, Tascam 24 track digital recording studio, silver flute.

They are collectables today, and sell for lots of money.

37. Many Of The Big Black Baptist Churches Had C3's
Smaller churches had only a piano, so both ended up in Gospel Music. The "bigger band" style of gospel, especially those with a lot of solo singing, had the Hammond sound. The more chorale type used piano.

It makes perfect sense how that happened. Either way, it's good stuff, and i'm not religious at all.

Either way, I have to say he was a phenomenal guitarist. I had never heard of him before I found that geetar. Shame, b/c he deserves recognition. The Gibson version of that guitar is beautiful. I really love this Japan-made as well. It's the only zero-fret I've ever seen in person, and it's got an action lower than I can comprehend. Somebody told me, "She looks like Satan." She does...

48. I've Always Been Partial To The Firebird
I don't have one, but i like the shape. You've got a good color. Too many of them are ugly sunbursts. The solid color is much better.

49. Thanks. Yeah, it's a really interesting shape. Sound is different, but nice
It took a little getting used to playing it standing up b/c it's neck-heavy, but if you kind of turn sideways against it, then it becomes very comfortable. The sitting playing position is great. The neck is nice... a little on the thinner side.

I've gutted the thing and put in some humbucker-sized P-90's. It sounds great, with a little twang and an awful lot of grind when you turn the volume up.
