Yes, Yes, Yes!
So happy that Colin Firth won! He's a very good actor, a very attractive man, and he just looks NICE!

And I'm glad The King's Speech won for Best Film and Best Director - it was a finely crafted film, although I do think Tom Hooper should have hit Timothy Spall on the head and told him to tone it down. And love that David Seidler should have won for screenplay too, as he himself had a bad stammer.

At Mass yesterday, the priest (who is Director of the Catholic Film Office), opened the Mass by telling everyone to go and see The King's Speech, which would scoop the pool at the Oscars - well, it didn't quite do that, but I agree with his sentiments. It's one of the most satisfying film experiences I've had in a long time.

And did I say I love Colin Firth?

1. I loved David Seidler's acceptance speech...
...especially the part about being a late bloomer.

As for Timothy Spall, what was with that performance? He was so wonderful in Secrets & Lies and in Pierrepont: The Last Hangman, and then he was the only weak link in the cast of The King's Speech.

On a more positive note, I still haven't figured out what we would do if there were no Geoffrey Rush. He just keeps going and going, like the Energizer Bunny.
