A PS3 question....
I'm currently in the market for a playstation 3, and my question is...is there a current issue or problem with the ps3 slimline? I've looked at numerous box stores and they don't have any ps3's and I find it odd that out of 8 box stores not a single one had a ps3.

Is there a recall on the slimlines, or is Sony awaiting to release a newer version of the ps3 slimline?

1. No recalls but a shortage

They made an announcement a few months back, guess it is still going in.

2. Well folks,
I'm a proud owner of a PS3 slimline 120 gig, I got Guitar Hero 5, and Guitar Hero Metallica. I do plan on getting Oblivion and Resistance fall of Man, and the new Red Dead Redemption(when it comes out).

Any suggestions on games, and fwiw I do prefer games akin to Devil May Cry/God of War/Oblivion. I'm not a very big FPS fan, and does anyone who is Tekken savvy have any opinions on Tekken 6?

3. all three GoW games
they've redone the first two God of War games and released them on one PS3 disc. I'm getting that in a few weeks.

GoW III is insane.

I've heard good things about Bayonetta, which is by the same guy who did the Devil May Cry series. I've tried the demo, and like it enough I'll be buying it soon.

Assassin's Creed is very good. Pick up the first one used; you'll only play it once. It's a bit boring, but the story is important to the second one, which is kick ass. It's more akin to the Prince of Persia games, lots of free running and stealth killing.

4. You might want to check out Prototype
Occulus did a review of it here:

It's been out for a while so you may be able to find it cheap. It is definitely a lot of fun to play.

7. Got a few more games...
I got Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, Burnout Paradise, and Star Wars the Force Unleashed.

The DC/Mortal Kombat is a decent fighter, I just started the Story Mode and I'm currently Batman fighting Loser(Liu) Kang. The concept is very interesting, all I have to do is get a move list, I spend most of the fight trying to figure out moves and what not. I think I'll probably pick up the book on this one. I do hope in the future the folks make a Mortal Kombat vs. Tekken game, that would be sweet.

Burnout Paradise is ok...I got this for a buddy of mine, but I decided to try it out first. Its like a Grand Theft Auto game but you never get out of your car. You go to stop lights, or stop in traffic and spin your tires and you will get assigned missions to complete. I tried 4 missions and got smoked in all four. I find it hard to race when I'm getting rammed constantly, trying to keep an eye on traffic, and keeping an eye on the map so I know which way I'm going. I'm not to happy with this game, but I'm not a racing fan...I think I should've gotten the Need For Speed game instead, but my bud should like this game greatly...he is a HUGH racing fan.

Star Wars, this game is great...I love using the force grip and beating folks over the head with various objects, and the move list is relatively easy to learn/pick up. I spent about an hour on this one the other day, and the time went by very fast.

Tomorrow I plan on getting Prototype, Guitar Hero Smash Hits, and Batman Arkham Asylum.
