Live Long and Prosper and take me to your Mum's basement
The reports range from the bizarre to the intriguing. There is the Alitalia pilot who shouted to his co-pilot to "look out" as a brown, missile-shaped object shot past the cockpit, and a sketchy self-portrait of a pointy-eared woman in a gown, who told the MoD she had crashlanded on Earth during the second world war, having left her home planet of warrior women.

The MoD released the files, covering 1986 to 1992, after a flood of requests from enthusiasts and conspiracy theorists who are convinced the truth is out there.

Ministry of Defence releases its UFO files:

1. And the threads are hopping!
This popped up right away in LBN. See my post elsewhere in here. Thanks for getting on the case!

Several LBN comments suggested that the UFOs are "following the Prime Directive."

That almost made me violate the Internet Prime Directive and start liberally using All Caps.

As in..."The Prime Directive is from FICTION! You probably first heard it on Star Trek, which was CREATED by Gene Roddenberry, who was AN ATHEIST!!!!"

Interesting note about the roots of Star Trek's Prime Directive, from Wikipedia:

In an interview with Gene Roddenberry in a 1991 edition of 'The Humanist' magazine, he implied (the Prime Directive) also had its roots in his belief that Christian Missionaries were interfering with other cultures.

People who confuse fiction with reality amaze me. Once I dated a woman who justified using cocaine by saying: "Well, Sherlock Holmes used it and he was the world's greatest detective."

:banghead:
