1. I figure if I was more "spiritually gifted"
the money would follow, as they all say ;)

8. Right! as those famous ones seem to do
:D

Also, physical beauty isn't important as my friends don't judge me that way. My girlfriend loves me for who I am, not what I look like, or not my overweight looks, anyway ;)

Although my recent "unwellness" has made me realize that I really need to work on lowering my weight. Not for physical looks, but for my general health and painfree living :)

2. I chose the very unspiritual sounding "more money."

deleted explanation -- hated the way it came out sounding.

3. Well, I chose the very unspiritual sounding "more intelligent".
As long as we're not hurting anyone to get it, none of them is better than the others, in my opinion.

I'm sorry that you feel stuck, Sanity Claws. :( I understand how it feels to regret decisions made.

10. Me too... "more money"
I could enhance all of the others if I had more time and less worry.

5. I chose the very unspiritual "more physically attractive"
Studies have shown that not only strangers, but parents treat their better looking children better. And better looking people get better and more job and other opportunities in life.

I remember years ago when Brooke Shields played a budding journalist in her short-lived tv sitcom. In one very honest episode, she argued with a colleague about whether or not a "great personality" made up for less than beautiful looks. She set out to prove him wrong on a dare by wearing a large prosthetic nose for 1 week. She didn't last 1 day.

7. In the beginning of the movie "Broadcast News"
the main character is shown as a young boy and getting all these compliments about how good he looks all the time. Of course, he questions that, wondering what he could do with just "good looks". The next scene shows him in his adult life as a TV news anchor

6. Alas, I voted to be "more physically attractive"
Money came in a close second, but I shouldn't complain about that, because we do have enough for the basics and the money does come when we have need of it; we're fortunate in that regard--that we haven't chosen to experience truly dire financial straits in this lifetime.

On the other hand, even though I should KNOW BETTER (AHEM!), the problem of physical attractiveness, especially weight issues, have dogged me most of my life, and I would like to remove that issue as a complication--not affecting my life as to how others treat me, because I can kill 'em with kindness and turn on the glamour (witchy type, not supermodel type) till they see me in a good light--but more the problem of how I feel about myself when I look in the mirror. It doesn't help that I actually WAS attractive and thin for about 20 years (from 15 to 35 or so) but didn't really know it--talk about wasted! x(

I would like to do the same. But 45 lbs. is tough to overlook. Maybe if I take down all the mirrors...

17. I hear ya honey!
When I saw the pics of me from the wedding I wanted to die!! Here I thought I was lookin' all cool for a 70 yr. old Gramma, and talk about having ones ego deflated!!!!! My self image went down the toilet. You can get the "mirror" to lie to your ego, but the camera doesn't lie. Know what I looked like? Imagine a dime as the size of my head (wore my hair slicked back in an updo) and my torso , the size of a silver dollar!! All shinied (word?) up in a flowing gold tunic and black dress slacks!!! Something even funnier that happened.....when we got all nicely loaded on the Port Jefferson ferry to LI, we were parked in like sardines. I couldn't get out of the front passenger door, even with the mirror folded flat on my daughters SUV. So in order to get out of the car, I had to climb over the gear box and behind the steering wheel to the drivers side. It's a miracle I didn't pull something in my back.
From a viewers standpoint, it must have looked hilarious! ha ha.
The ferry trip takes an hour an a half, so to enjoy the water view, and to get a drink and go potty, ya have to climb up two steep flights of stairs!!! Had to stop halfway so I could breath for about ten min. or so.
You would think they would be more handicapped accessible????
To make this long story shorter, I'm voting for physical attractiveness, and fitness!! Ya know if ya ain't got yer health they always say..............

23. OMG! Aren't photos the WORST?
It's not privacy that keeps me from posting in teh Lounge pic threads--it's vanity! I won't let family members take pictures of me--I think I was in ONE from when we went to Florida in April (and that was by accident!) I swore off of them after my niece took a photo of me sitting on the couch with my brother and SIL at Christmas. They looked normal; I looked like Jabba the Hutt! And not just size--I'm talking shape! WHERE did those rolls come from, I ask you! (Can I blame MG Jr.?)

9. Good poll, IHAD.
I wouldn't change anything because I've worked so daggone hard to come to terms with all of the above. Beauty changes and I no longer feel self-conscious about looks, spiritual growth is never ending, I think that I can understand many things and accept when I'm a ditz and seek help , could always use more money but it no longer determines how happy I am. So much to be thankful for As Is and I refuse to die again with woulda, coulda, shoulda pulling me back.

12. Money issues...
Edited on Mon Jul-13-09 04:14 PM by Fire Walk With Me
..as I'm out of abundance at this time (quite!).

My spiritual gifts have only caused me grief, as others have become uncomfortable and terribly rejecting. Then again, a psychic mentioned that a life lesson was to become comfortable making people uncomfortable...which I have only recently begun accomplishing.

Edit: Thanks for the fun poll. Such perspective is always nice. :)

13. I'm afraid the last few weeks have got me somewhat focused on money.
As for the others, it was hard to pick because even tho there is always room for improvement in my looks, intelligence and spiritual work, I am pretty happy with what I have and any improvement made would have to arise from me first.

Money ia a bit more arbitrary and not always under my control, so it becomes more of a worry.

24. Found them!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passalidae

I couldn't resist! I have seen those throughout my life. They must make crazy noises or something. Beneficial, but ugly, they eat rotten wood.

25. They're an interesting species, certainly
though it would be even more interesting if Wikipedia had some links to the "fourteen accoustical signals" they produce. But perhaps the "crazy" part comes from this bit of knowledge on them: "Both adults and larvae must consume adult feces which have been further digested by microflora for a time; an arrangement that might be described as a sort of external rumen." :P

18. In more normal circumstances I would have chosen differently,
but I chose money.
I don't require much, but it would be nice to have enough to cover necessities.
It would allow for a change in focus which would be most welcome.

21. If I were having financial hardships right now, I'd have chosen money also.
Edited on Tue Jul-14-09 06:18 AM by I Have A Dream
I guess that it's all about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. The necessities need to be taken care of before there's room for other things, at least for me.

26. That damn MONEY thang!
Ya, I have been in poverty all of my adult life and I am tired of filling out welfare forms and being under the watchful eye and being ashamed of foodstamps and not feeling like I can EVeR do enough to 'MAKE IT' for real...

I want to have a home that's mine - so I can paint and such as I please
I want to be able to go shopping for inconsequential items when the need arises, and not have to wait till I get a check or ask my mom to buy toilet paper!

I want to be able to focus my energies on CREATING AND GIVING, not on survival...

*sigh*
some sweet day

27. I truly believe the abundance situation is my spiritual challenge this lifetime.
I have been blessed with good health, reasonable looks, and a wonderfully fufilling love life (two great loves in my lifetime is a blessing I cherish, no matter how rocky the road to get there!). I can only answer that financial worries are my 'cross to bear, lol.
