any insight or experience please? with Venus square Uranus and/or Uranus in 7th house

natal configurations, not transits

I have Venus square Uranus,
and for most of my life I never really noticed
anything in myself of the flightiness I have
heard associated with that aspect.
I craved a deep commitment (but looking back maybe for the wrong reasons)
I was never afraid of it (at least not consciously)
I was with someone for 12 years

Now I am interested (ok, often obsessed I will admit)
in someone who's Uranus is in their 7th house
and I have I guess an intuitive feeling that it
could be a match made in heaven and hell simultaneously

in some ways it has been very fulfilling
but very weird and unstable and sporadic
and anytime it seems to be stabilizing
I either start to lose interest or get scared

we had a falling out that I don't know if it is reconcilable
but then again I've had that feeling before and been wrong

1. In response
Venus square Uranus can cause sudden attractions and break-ups. It depends on what sign it is in, how wide is the orb, etc.
It is not enough to "guarantee" a mess in your relationships. Charts are much more complex than that. Don't let that stop you and I would certainly quit worrying about it. After all, 8% of all people have Uranus in the 7th. What matters there is how close it is to the descendant. Hope that helps.

2. thank you

I think I am just generally getting freaked out very easily lately

but anyway,
Venus in Cancer, Uranus in Libra, 1 degree orb, neither planet has any other very close aspects.

with the 7th house Uranus person the distance from Descendant is 9 degrees

9. It's really not a bad thing
it just means that you have sudden attractions that can quickly fade. One solution is to look a bit deeper before allowing yourself to get involved.

5. I have Venus opp Uranus, and my life is like that.
People come in quickly and leave just as quickly. I've gotten accustomed to it, but it makes me afraid of getting close to people.

10. The opposition seems to be stronger than the square, I find.
the secret here is to realize that it is you that invite them in and ask them to exit. There is no reason to be afraid of getting involved, really. I find it is usually due to parents who gave you mixed messages, "It's ok to come close, It's not, It is, It's not...etc"

Another thing about Venus-Uranus is sometimes the native purposely chooses relationships (even if it's unconscious) that they know will not work in the long run - it is "safe", but not really.

It is certainly an aspect that can be overcome.

good luck

12. Interesting.
I think some of it is subconscious, due to a childhood event. It's pretty complex, but it fits in so well with what you are saying, including mixed messages from parents. When I have some money, I will contact you for a reading. I think you've got good insight. :)

It's not a bad thing.

The best metaphor of which I've ever come up for it.

Is that of a defribulater.

If someone doesn't jolt your heart thier probably not worth your time.

OTOH I have Venus retro widly conjunct Uranus.

The better your eclectically spiritual connection will be, the better it will be.

That is all for now.

best

11. One correlation could be
that the 7th-house-Uranus person might be able to grok the Venus-person's Uranian accent. Without further qualifications, I can say that Uranus-7th is capable of loyal, exclusive partnership. But in this case, it definitely does have the Aquarian sort of "cool" intimacy; mutual respect for each other's independence of mind/spirit is a must (even though it ain't always easy); possessiveness and/or bossiness go over like a lead balloon.

I'd look at how the suns and moons relate -- A's sun to B's moon, and vice versa. (A lot of times when couples are on the outs and bend my ear about it, it seems to me they're reading each other's chart without knowing it, and without the willingness to stretch in understanding the other's orientation. When they're fussing, of course the other one is "wrong.") Then I'd check the relationship of Venus-Mars between them, and then Mercury -- communication. About the obsession, if you can enjoy the tickle, that's great. But it's best to own it, rather than let it own you, huh?

This is a side note, but Cancerians may find Smithsonian Magazine interesting this month. Articles on Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln, who share a birthday.

13. Suns and Moons

A has Cancer Sun, Pisces Moon
B has Capricorn Sun, Virgo Moon

but orb-wise the only aspect is the opposition of Moons,
which is nearly exact

A has Cancer Venus, Aries Mars
B has Pisces Venus, Capricorn Mars

again, orb-wise there are no aspects except for a fairly wide Mars square Mars

somewhat incidentally, or not,
I noticed that A's Venus is conjunct B's IC
and B's Chiron conjunct A's IC

setting astrology aside
I feel there is a deep affection and caring between us
yet also a rather extreme sexual tension that seems mysteriously unresolvable
for now, perhaps, I hope, I think. Arg.

like we are magnets spinning around each other

14. A reasonable period of courtship
might be very right for Cancer and Capricorn. A sketch strictly from sign placements -- B's Sun to A's Moon, check; B's Mars to A's Venus, check (but with notation); Sun-Sun and Moon-Moon oppositions can be complementary (also with notation)... Also, A's Venus conjunct B's IC is noteworthy. But that also means A's Uranus squares B's MC/IC, which probably counts as a focal point in this comparison because of B's (Cappy?) MC, elevated Sun, and ASC ruler up there.

Treated loosely as aspects, then B's Mars to A's Venus is attraction, and maybe harmonious according to Venus's willingness to yield to Mars (maybe there are easy aspects attached). But here's where a look at mental agreement might be handy (Mercury-Mercury, Mercury-Moon), to see if there's good potential for coming to mutually satisfactory terms. Because, looking at the individual situations, B's Moon & Venus in opposite signs might need some elucidation; and A's Venus -- romantic in Cancer and relating to Moon in a trine-sign -- very romantic, and at odds with strong yang/desire-nature Mars in Aries. Also, while A's desire-nature may be embodied in B's Ascendant, it squares B's Asc Ruler. So there are two notes where A might be expected to yield. I can see where there's attraction and resistance.

There's romantic sex of 5th House, and then sexual relationship of 8th, following a 7th-House merger, and I thought of Pluto with the picture of magnets spinning. Just an impression. But if B's 8th is Scorpio, then Pluto's position and aspects may shed some light.

I've used Lois Sargent's guidelines ("How to Handle Your Human Relations") for considering partnership probabilities -- how ASC/DES rulers relate -- quite a few ways they can indicate a match -- and then for durability I'm keyed to checking Saturn's aspects to personal planets between charts. My general impression is that the Mars-in-Capricorn couldn't totally own Venus-in-Cancer without permission, because Uranus would have some say in that. Likewise, Mars in Aries has to be expressed; but Mars in Capricorn does not yield. That would call for some kind of agreement. Best wishes.

Mars in Aries vs. Mars in Capricorn = unstoppable force vs. unmovable object ?

LOL

I am quite thankful that I am able to look at this situation with a little bit of humor.

well there are no Saturn contacts to personal planets,
but I wonder if her Capricorn stellium in my Saturn-ruled first house
might be a similar sort of thing, re longevity

16. actually
B's Ascendant ruler is Venus (Taurus,) not Mars
A's Ascendant ruler is Saturn

so, hm, that makes for A's Descendant ruler (Moon) conjunct B's Ascendant ruler (Venus)

also A's Descendant ruler (Moon) is biquintile B's Descendant ruler (Pluto)

A's 5th house ruler (Venus) is nearly-exactly opposite B's 5th house ruler (Sun)

and whereas before I thought there were no Saturn - personal planet connections,
I discovered that A's Saturn is quintile B's Moon

17. Glad I checked back on this thread...
I hate fuzziness in astrology, yet I hopped right in and added my own, reading A-B backwards. I double-checked the planetary placements, should have checked the profile. I'm sorry.

Therefore: A's Sun to B's Moon, check; A's Mars to B's Venus, by sign position, doesn't check, which is where we started. A's Sun/Venus/Moon (by sign) related to B's Venus is very fine. But then I'm looking again at B's Mars to A's Venus: could that work out OK? -- and then the Mars-square-Mars becomes more significant. If there's intention toward a partnership, then I'd think it well worth a (non-fuzzy) professional consultation.

Because -- if A's got a 7th-House emphasis and inclined to accommodate B's Mars, OK, but I don't see a good resolution if it means putting A's Mars into denial, especially not an Aries Mars. No statistical proof here, but Aries wins a battle and Capricorn wins a war. And if these cross-positions affect 4th and 12th houses there's possibly subconscious or unconscious effects, so I'd want to be aware of that square's significance in the relationship, as well as easy aspects to it (and easy aspects connected to A's Uranus squaring B's MC/IC).

18. hm, perhaps interesting about the Mars squ Mars and previously unmentioned North Nodes

A's North Node suggests a need to learn to be more assertive (1st house)
B's NN suggests a need to learn to be more comfortable with compromise (Libra, conj Descendant)

B's Mars conj A's NN
A's MC/IC conj B's nodal axis
